Nice...Very Nice...I can hardly wait to see what else will be released for my Dark Angels! I really like the new figure...The rest seems standard...a few new/different bitz, but nothing too wow-ish.

Looking good so far. There should be a few cool figs but I doubt you will see much more than a box of special figs, the rest will be add-on sprues. Never the less i am very excited to see what they will do with them. I guess I could do another company of DA, then again may be just an updated force.

I don't play Marines, but have always had a fondness for the Dark Angels. I hope they do them justice this time around. I'd be happy to see add on sprues and extra new bits for vehicles. It would at least save me money from buying from Forgeworld.
Good find.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

I am not using DA iconography for my Deathwing, but there are some nice add on bits across the line for them.
I heard about these a few days ago, but without pics, its hard to beleive.
GW has an amazing amount of rumour leak control nowadays. We barely see anything new without it being published by them in some or fashion. (dire avengers in white dwarf and a few aspects among others.) This indicates to me that what we know and see is many months behind what they have in store for us. I am sure whatever new 40K codex that is next in line will be more than likely close to completion, if it isnt already done.

I'm not sure I'd qualify the Eldar as having been a case of their best leak control. The Harlies were leaked with incredable pictures long before Jes intended anyone to see them. He even expressed anger when he found out they were leaked. Other models were leaked from this line rather early as well.

I noticed that they showed assault terminators and regular terminators in the same picture, I hope that means a return to the old mixed deathwing squads of 3rd edition, my terminator squads would love me some lightning claws to go along with those assault cannons.

I was a couple of days away from ordering some deathwing shoulderpads from Forgeworld. Now I think I'll just wait and see what the GW versions look like. I'm not in a hurry. And mixed assault/shooty termie squads would be very cool.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

Wow look at the pictures and leave...I cant believe nobody is cpmmenting about the rumors below...I mean Elite scouts and Speeders attached to bike squads? WTF are they trying to do?
/// Speaking to the staff at the GT about the new Dark Angels, and thought i should share them with you. Mods, feel free to add anything to the rumour round-up. Sorry if any of this has already been mentioned.
- The dark angels will have 3 Master choices, aswell as the Chaplin and Librarian. These are a Master, Master of the Deathwing and Master of the Ravenwing. The choice reflects what counts as troop choices in the army. e.g a Master of the Deathwing will make Terminators troop choices.
- There will be two new upgrade sprues, a Deathwing and a Ravenwing one.
- Plastic Devastator Marine box set.
- Scouts will be moved to Elite choices.
-A basic Marine squad, consists of 5 men, one being a Veteran Sergeant. This can then be upgraded to a 10 man squad. The 5 man option has access to a special weapon whereas the 10 man can take a heavy weapon.
-When deploying 10 man squads, they can be split into two 5 man squads, choosing where the heavy and special weapons go. Each smaller squad will be worth half of the whole 10 man squad for VP's
-No Mortis Dreadnought will be included in the main list, this will remain a IA vehicle.
- Bikes will start as a 5 man squad, this can then be upgraded to a 6 man squad. Single landspeeders and attack bikes can be attached to bike squads although they operate independently.
-Release date is rumoured to be Easter 2007.
-The master of the Ravenwing can have a Landspeeder which has a all round 14 armour and a 6+ Jinx save. He can also ride a jetbike which is rumoured to be armed with a plasma cannon.

IF DA can split 10man squads, they will redifine shooty. The Utility DA Tacts will have, will be BEATS. DEVS and HVY weapons could theoretically shut down 1/3-1/2 of a table, while the remnants, elites POD, FA, and HQ POD up for assault. You may even see Plasma Cannons in squads as the enemy is channeled. Coolest rumors about a MEQ that I have seen in a while. WOW how about those CHI Bears...its 0700 in the morning overhere and Im glad Im still up.

These certainly are the wierdest rumours in recent memory. I only hope they dont nerf this up like they did with the BT's. A bit more research could have produced a winner of a codex there.

The ability to split sqads would be very interesting - 30ish 5 man squads anyone? (i.e. 15ish 10 man units, each split into 2) Could be really annoying to fight against...
Hmm, working out Victory Points on split squads could be awkward - have to keep track of which 2 mini-squads were originally 1 unit.

If this is true Id add the ML for the cheapest AP3 HVY or PlasmaCan. The trick would be to wither every MEQ or even Hordes with as fast as possible. This way your remaining remnant sqaud could still have the possibility of numerical balance upon reaching the assault.
Id imagine Stubborn will be adjusted to fowl this up too. Id imagine the small squads would be at some kind of disadvantage for LD tests. These rumors seem to fall in line with mixed Deathwing squads as well.
Its very early but DA sound like they may have the best of all worlds.
If the type of Master dictates what the troop choices are, whoa...be ready for the AV14 master of the Raven Wing/FOD Liby, and the speeders DSing with some Termies. Ugh...gross.
Soooo early so intriguing.

Posted By Brother CPT Ginn on 10/16/2006 5:46 PM - Plastic Devastator Marine box set. So if you want lascannon blisters get em now. After the plastic box set comes out each lascannon is going to cost $45 (or more).

some of the rumours there are just plain wierd... I seriously doubt they will do half of that, you have to remember that red/black shirts always like screwing with the congregation as it were and i think you have to take some of those with a pinhc of salt... The possibility of the 3 commanders thing, sounds realistic, Squad splitting is kinda wierd.. but ok possible, the scouts to elite choice? mmm not so sure about but, a 14-14-14 land speeder mmm doubt the attatching land speeders to bike squads now that just sounds wierd even for a White scars force :/
