"Pig Iron Productions has released a new 28mm scale Heavy Infantry booster set. The set contains 10 of their Heavy Infantry miniatures with 20 heads (six different types of heads) and comm gear packs.

The booster is available from their online store for £14.00. The heads in the booster include 10 helmeted heads, two with targeting sights, two bare heads, two commanders in cap, two wounded heads and two commanders in cap shouting.

In addition Pig Iron has announced a price increase across their entire range due to higher material costs."

Looks like they fixed some of the proportion issues on their line, and the alternate heads are ace (at least the ones with caps on are). Not thrilled about the price rise, but at least they're clear about it, and $26-ish bucks is still not bad for 10 guys with options. Seems like a nice alternative to Kasrkin, Scouts, or whatever.

Those are great, and even at £14 (~$26 USD), for ten guys in cast metal with extras the price is better than you know who's. Great looking infantry too, those would even make great alternate marines. Or on their own. Whatever, they are fantastic.

Even with the price increase the minis are very well priced. Don't forget that The Warstore carries them so you should be able to get them from Neal in order to avoid shipping charges from the UK.

Yeah. I'm thinking 2 squads, plus a few wardroids could make for a nice alt SST with CHAVS army. Or a 1st-&-10th-style marine army (i.e. scouts and termies). Or some kind of crazy imperial something-something.

Price increase!?!?  Why those money-grubbing, consumer-hating, traitors!  What about the hobby? what about the consumer?  What about the loyal fans?  What about the children?

Oh, wait, this isn't about GW.  You mean, other companies raise prices too?  Wow.  Whodathunkit...

Nice minis, though.  They seem a little awkward, but I chalk that up to my 'heroic 28mm sensibilities'.  I like the armored heads.  Would be nice to maybe get those separately.

How come no one has come out with generic 'sci-fi' troop heads that would be compatible with some number of heroic 28mm guardsmen (and I don't mean forgeworld, where the heads cost as much as the unit)?

Lots of chrachter, lots of posses, interchangeable stuff, and fairly cheap...cool

MJ12 has stats for the vehicles and War Droids for use in their Defiance ruleset. and the troops are pretty much heavy armoured infantry that you could use in any game.

TGN has the releases for Defiance stats

or you can hit the MJ12 site or the Defiance subsite

Pig Iron doesn't produce their own rules and I don't think they have plans to do so.
