Hi All,

I've just joined Dakka and i'm primarily looking for a bit of advice at the moment.
I've been playing Blood Angels for a good while now and, having gotten a little tired with staring at the same units everytime i field an army (don't get me wrong, I love my BA army) I've started to collect and build a Tyranid Force

My Question is this.

I'm aiming to build up a good 2,000 to 2,500 points worth of nids. I want to keep it as CC orientated as possible but i don't want to be cheesy (fielding an army of infiltrating genestealers for example) and I want to keep the whole army as mobile as possible, i.e have a good amount of synapse on the field.

What, in your opinion, would be a good army list for a Tyranid army aiming for that kind of playing style? If anyone already has an Army list that fits in with this i'd really like to see it

Thanks in advance.

Well, a winged tyrant (or two) is probably your first and best synapse option, backed by Leaping warriors rigged for CC. Load them all for CC, and perhaps give one of the tyrants a quad-devourer loadout so that you have a fast-shooty option.

For troops, at least 1-2 blocks of genestealers will be your friends, and I'd add in cheap as dirt Hormagaunts to get in there and tie things up as quickly as possible. Load your fast attack blocks with raveners, and then take at least 1 Gunfex to give you a chance against heavy armor or skimmers, perhaps with Zoanthropes to provide extra synapse and shooting ability. I know they're not as fast or mobile as the Tyrants, Gaunts, Stealers, or Raveners, but the ability to offer a legitimate threat against mechanized armies is worth it.
