Tau Fire Warriors left shoulder pad, is that the caste symbol or is it worl symbol this has come up in an arugment i was wandering if anyone can help

From what i understand the symbol on the left shoudler pad is the fire caste symbol and any other symbol say on the right shoulder or the chest is the badge or symbol of their planet or army.

cany anyone help or quote me somthign that can help?

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Acutally, the shoulder pad is the symbol of Earth's long lost colony ship "Marathon", which was taken by force by an alien species near Tau Ceti and sold. Once on the open market it was used by several species until it was finally decomissioned over a lonly planet on the eastern fringe as a tax write off. As most of the aliens who owned it were killed off by the "Golden Men" or subsequently by the Emperor's crusade and so no one left recognizes the true source of Tau technology.

The symbol on the moulded shoulder pad is that of the Tau homeworld, T'au, and I think also that of the Empire, which is why it crops up on every Firewarrior. Other worlds are identified by those little coloured lines on the helmets and guns.
