I'm curious if anyone has ever faced them/used them and how they fared. Just lookin' for some ideas for my new armor I'm set on power armor, but that's my only requirement.

If that upsets your fluff stomach, buy a case of "it's just a game"-bizmo and get over it.

I've played a bunch with my Blood Angels, but never with Pods.

I'd think Pods would be great for Furiosos, but otherwise, not so much. Pod lists depend on shooting more than HtH. Blood Angels do best when they can get the charge, and Pods don't afford that very well.

I tried a three pod approach, each 10 man Tacs, supporting 3 assault elements and a BA scout and Sniper scout unit.

More often than not I just missed the heavy weapons that the Tacs brought, so I tried just setting them up.

I have had a lot of success without podding them.  If you want pods, try Wolves or a DIY chapter...

BAs are most effiient as a shooty list with inbuilt (almost free) countercharge. I have to second the other posters that BAs fare better without Pods.

I disagree very, very strongly. Due to the Black Rage, Angels infantry end up being only 5/6ths as effective as normal Marines. Also, units that add shooty to a Marines list, like Assault Cannon Terms, become a liability as they can go to the DC and not be points efficient.

Blood Angels are at their best when you focus on two elements: Maximize the size and Fistiness of the Death Company, maximize the effectiveness of the free Furious Charge. That means lots of Scouts, lots of Assault Squads.

If you want to shoot and counter-charge, play Wolves.

I've played against them in a tournament with my Daemonhunters. Check out the report in the battle reports section (Daemonhunters Tournament report or something similar).

Granted, it wasn't quite an optimized list, but it wasn't bad either.

This was also pre-FAQ so speeders could shoot on deepstriking.

"If you want to shoot and counter-charge, play Wolves."

Thats ähm... wrong.

Wolves do not have hidden ranged weapons, and thus cant match shooty armys. Wolves do best with Pods.

Blood Angels get their countercharge for free. If you take some LasPlas units, you max out on Death Comp as well as shooting. Add in some Baals and Tornados and you get a very shooty army. 1/6 chance to rage is pretty irrelevant. Take 6 LasPlas against an opponent with 5 and you come out even. And Baals and Tornados dont rage anyways.
