Subject: My Warboss on Bike

I've been trying to model up a Warboss on a Bike for use in my KoS army for some time, now that my Ultramarines are 98% done, I can move on to my more Orky projects. This is based off an awesome conversion I saw at the Baltimore Gamesday in 06, that took Second Place in the Staff Competition. Seeing how it was done and that it 1.) Looked Great and 2.) Didn't require me to hack up a metal warboss and put it back together, I decided that I was going to use this conversion for myself. I'm quite pleased with how it all came out, painting will begin after I model a normal Biker Nob and convert up a Battlewagon. Comments would be appreciated, especially as I'm really new at converting stuff.

Looks cool! Should take some time to get rid of the mould lines and it'll be ace.

Looks awesome, but it would help with the believability if there was something for the boss to hold on to. Given how big, dumb, and clumsy orks are it seems like he'd just fall off the first time the driver hit the boost button.

Another orcish banner for a head? Originality points lost.

i agree, unless hid boots are bolted to the chassis, he will fall over rather quickly . As both his hands are employed waving huge weapons, a hand rail probably wouldn't be pratical to modell (unless his klaw hand can grip one). Maybe instead have him hled on by big straps from his waist to the chassis? Or even add something to the chassis to give him a backrest.

Alternately, the way that his legs are positioned (bent knees) would allow you to make up a little seat/throne thingy for him to sit on, with angled footrests so that you don't have to reposition his feet. If you do so, just reposition his left arm so that that ax is still pointing paralell to the ground. The lean-back effect might also convey a feeling of speed.
If, however, you can't be bothered, don't sweat it. It still looks great. Hell, you could model a greenstuff seatcushion between the Boss's legs, and make it look like he's abandoned his seat to stand up and chop some heads. He is a Speed Freek, after all.
Man, I love that exhaust/radiator thingy on the back of the rig. The whole thing looks great.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Ah, remember the 2nd edition fluff! As an Ork, the Warboss' conviction that the hobnails of his shoes will stay firmly attached to the fighting platform, regardless of the bike's speed, will hold him in place as firmly as a stirrup.
This definitely looks like a T5 model, though! I guess it's 50/50 buggy/bike? Nice, smoothe (...) converting. Overall GJ. You should post the paint job once you get it done up.

nice one. I had this idea some time ago too, but right now I can't put work into the green guys. you might want to add a biger engine. otherwise he's not fast enough to be a KoS Warboss
