So anyone know if there is ANY chance of this happening ever? For all the issues that people have with 4th ed it is mostly a pretty solid system, a dozen or so tweaks could make it near perfect.

Of course it would be nice to see a few more codices come out first...

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

It takes GW several months to publish a 2pp FAQ list. I wouldn't hold my breath for a new edition of the core rules. As for codices, we need a new Ork codex and Dark Eldar and that's it. (Too many damn SMs as it is.)

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

If they do an FAQ it will probably just be printed in WD to make you have to buy one. Don't think that it hasn't crossed thier minds.

You're both wrong. The first rule of White Dwarf is: You do not talk about White Dwarf.

The second rule, of course, is: You do NOT talk about White Dwarf!

The word on the street is that there is going to be a addition of playing with forces of larger sizes, such as company and battalion size. ( Battleforce). I wouldn't put it past them to try this, but unless they get thier prices under control, it might not do very well for an average kid to go try to buy 90.00 sets and try this one.

If any rules changes come it will be in addition to this expansion. Got my info from the local GW store, and listen to them try to sell me and a few others in the battleforce box sets.

My opinion on this issue is mixed, and with some of the homework I've been doing, am starting to consider the possibility that someone in the upper management is using the old hack and slash method of making money, and then just before the bottom drops out they will drop all holdings to the company and let it die a horrible bloody death.

With the advent of AT-43, the WOTC, and others of prepainted minis, this company is going to have an interesting year ahead. Unless they do some radical retooling and presentation of thier core games, they may have a difficult next year.

- Heard of the new battleforce system coming out, don't know what to think yet.

- Possible that prices may either stay the same, or drop slightly to make this happen.

- New rules and other issues are going to evolve the game next couple of months and will eventually fuel another rules rewrite to scale back to favor gaining a market back.

Just my opinions.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The rules I heard were about using larger forces, but also using Super Heavies. Working title that's been posted around is 'Apocolypse'. There was rumor of plastic super heavies coming with it. Have no idea of a realistic time table, though.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
