That is a terrible painting guide! Typo aside, the fire dragons (the actuall fire dragons...) are worse than the stuff from "The Red Period" when they premiered... The rest of the paint jobs are pretty crap too. I'd ask what happened to the days when you looked up to GW's ability to put out beautifully paint jobs on beautiful figures but I know that this is what happens when you gut your creative department.
Dude all GW painting guides are gak and have been for years.
Just look at army books. Beastman painting, one shot of a fully painted gor.
"we painted this beastman Scorched Brown..."
Guide ends. Come one man what about the highlights, what about the base coat, What about the cloth? And have you noticed how they stick Goblin Green into every paint guide/ description on boxes even when it isn't even there?
We no longer get the stage by stage painting guides so you can actually (as a beginner) understand the process, or the fantastic white dwarf masterclasses.
New WD masterclasses? please those are a joke. Heres a crappy stock photo, we used these 3 colours. Or even worse heres Bills model from the Xenter name hereX store, he drybrushed with a beautiful mixture of codex grey and fortress grey... doesnt it look pretty children?
Hobby support in GW webpages and mags is sadly non existant.
At least Forgeworld don't insult the modellers intelligence.
More and more I find myself joining the cult of Corvus Belli, the fifth chaos god in this modelling panetheon . Never played the games but beautiful sculpts and nicely produced minis.
