Thought I would let you guys know, if you already didn't, that amazon.com has the 40k rpg for preorder. Someone has probably already said this but I am hoping I can be the first...only to make myself feel special for once in my life.

It's been pushed back. Amazon.ca still lists it for March, but... http://www.blackindustries.com/?template=40k&content=newslist&newsitem=188 It's not out till Fall 2007. $50 is pretty typical for large RPG core books. I'm leaving my pre-order up, I can always cancel if the previews look terrible.

I wonder if this is worth picking up for 40k fluff. The inquisitor book was pretty cool. I wonder how this will compare.

There was a fan made 40k RPG for a long time; I still have the entire ruleset printed out. Very nicely done but it references stuff in the WHFB RPG book Which reminds me I've got some dnd stuff for sale...bought it a month ago and realized I have no use for it in the least...

Posted By jojo_monkey_boy on 12/23/2006 4:14 PM I wonder if this is worth picking up for 40k fluff. The inquisitor book was pretty cool. I wonder how this will compare. One of the complaints about the new WFRP is that it didn't include as much fluff as the old. Penning new fluff for such an established universe is also a difficult proposition. Still, I'm expecting some cool stuff. The really interesting information will be in the supplements - particularly once the Rogue Trader game is released since GW hasn't explored that area much in quite awhile. Glad to see you're still around Jojo - I may be moving to Ottawa to work this summer actually.

40K comes full circle. The original game was supposed to be a role playing game, they added plastic space marines and the Rogue Trader book as a temporary introductory patch in for the 40K universe. But then space marines sold, and sold and sold.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

All the 'Fluff' in the new 40K RPG is written by Dan Abnet - This is according to a very reliable source ( an employee of Black industries & Novel proof reader)

I'm a fan of most of Abnett's writing and his vision of the 40K universe.
