I was rereading my rules on assault phases and I noticed that I could not find a couple 3rd ed. rules in them anywhere.  I know this may be because they were removed but I just wanted to be sure.

One rule is that you can not shoot at one unit and then charge another...I think thats in there but I remember there being something said somewhere about units that count as being stationary when firing (terminators for example) could do this.....shoot at one unit and then charge another.

There was also a rule like....if you fire in the shooting phase you do not get your charge bonus (+1 A)....is that still in effect or did they remove it?

If someone could elaborate on these 2 issues or even give me a page number to reference I would really appreciate it

Both of the rules you mention were only in the 3rd edition trial rules.

All units must charge the unit they fire at (if they wish to charge) and do not lose the +1A bonus if they do fire.

Of course this is countered by the fact you can no longer assault if you fire a rapid fire weapon.

but you can still fire at one unit, have one guy assult that unit, and the rest of the firing unit assult another enemy unit (maintaining coherence) right?

Technically, yes, you can... but you have to follow the rules for moving your charging models as laid out on page 37, so it's a little harder to do than it might at first seem.

Troll country

Remember that terminators can rapid-fire and still charge. There is always an exception.

Yet another rule that made Terminators more desirable that is gone.  I did enjoy being able to manipulate my assault phase and shooting phases around what damages a small group of terminators could do.  Ive never ran a hugely term heavy army but not they have really take away the majority of their versatility *shrug*.

Thanx for the replies.
