Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

I saw a video of this thing in action some time ago. Fires tennis balls from that cannon if I remember correctly. I pretty nifty peice of technology. Though I've gotta go Warwalker, given that I its got two weapon mounts. You just can't see the second to well given the angle of the picture.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

You can't out robot-suit the Japanese. You just can't.

Seen that thing in a video before... it doesn't "walk" it merely shuffles around with wheels on its feet... I do wonder why the makers bother to give it legs when it's obviously never going to use them.

I don't see how a tennis ball cannon is going to help increase Tokyo's catastrophe capacity.

I wouldn't worry about it Doobie. I've seen footage of that thing. It moved at about 1 mile a month. No way Japanese Mecha are taking over the world this century. And when they finally do, we'll be dead, and our children's children will no doubt be the slaves of some alien master race, so it won't matter.

You got that right!  The photograph above is actually an 'in-battle' shot of this thing on the front lines.  The pilot is making an emergency bail out move since there is a girl scout with a pellet rifle about 10 meters away who's about to score a pen 6 on the thing.

Does your sentinel "use" its legs?

Um, I "constructed" a robot once. It could talk. I spraypainted it silver. It was completely lacking in any legs whatsoever, functional or otherwise.

I wanted to build a robot once.  I would have named him "Moneybot".  He would have had slot machine reels for eyes.  I would have asked him, "Moneybot, I'd like some money now please."  Then Moneybot's eyes would have spun around and around until they both stopped on dollar signs ($ $) - cha-chang!  Then dollar bills would have shot out of his mouth all over the floor.  But I buried my dreams long ago...

the spire of angels

robotics like any other tech industry is making steady advancements

i know some poeple involved in the mechanized propulsion who are building thier own bipedal walker. ther eare exoskeleton power armor "suits" in develoment to aid the disabled which will eventaullu have other useful applications. there is a real walking 6 legged tree grabber used by the logging industry as well as a 2 legged walking shovel used in the mining undustry.

this exaple is something made by a private citizen in japan, the owner of a heavy equipment company, using his own money and available technology to make his own mini mech. now it may not be much compared t where we want to go but (pardon the pun) it is a small step in the right direction.
