  Whoa, so non-barrage ordnance weapons don't cause pinning?  So my Whirlwind does, but my friend's Leman Russ doesn't? 

BGB Page 32, box labeled: "Incoming! Ordnance Barrage Pinning"

"Units suffering casualties from an ordnance barrage must pass a Leadership test with the following modifier to avoid being pinned down: -1 Leadership for coming under fire from an ordnance barrage."

BGB Page 31, under "Firing Barrages," last paragraph.

"Barrage weapons are always pinning weapons as well."

There is nothing on page 29 under "Ordnance Weapons" that indicate that an ordnance weapon has, by itself, the ability to pin.

So, yup, your Whirlwind can pin, and the Russ don't.
