Just wondering if anyone uses Kroot mercenaries.  I find 2 units of 20 and a shaper with evicerator are a great addition to my ork and iron warriors armies.  I'm also planning to have a stand alone army of them in the furure.

Given the right adaptations and wargear they can be a game winning addition. I like 12 with super nymoid gland and blood of the stalker and that other gear that lets you set up INSIDE of 18" after infiltrating.

The Hammer

They're supposed to make a realy fun time against Deathworld Veterans. Personally, I always thought the hound packs were the best value per point as the doggies upgrade to fleet and I4 for free. With Blood of the Stalker and Surefoot Charm on the Shaper, and a 3+ for mission level, they can be in combat first turn. Kroot do not get allies themselves and don't have much in the way of durable troops or anti-tank weapons, and thus tend to take a lot of work fine-tuning to do even somewhat well semi-competitively.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

Very true, they're even flimsier than dark eldar when out of their enviroment. The board I play on is 4x8 and always includes one tank box sized jungle. The sweet thing about the hounds is that you can have a max unit of 20 kroot and 20 hounds. Put that in a forest halfway up the board and you have an excellent midrange fire and counter attack unit. My first guard army was death worlders and it'd be some standoff. I've yet to try using an army of kroot, but I'd give all my shapers an evicerator, that ensures tank killing ability in every unit and good meq killing. I think if I was playing a full army I'd try and rush my foe. The Infil helps, but if you don't get the first turn it could break you if there isn't enough cover.

For kroot, the Kroot hound pack is pretty good w/ hyper active nymune organ, blood of the stalker, and surefoot charm. You can set up between 12"-17" from the enemy in infiltrate scenarios and have fleet of foot on 2 dice. 1st turn charge.
