Hi Orlanth,

Russ has checked and your account is fine.  I believe it's because you're using Opera, which unfortunately Dakka doesn't work well with.  Russ recommends you try Firefox or IE.  sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

Ragnar

Yes I worked this out yesterday. I wondered why I was only recently having problems. So I switched back to IE for Dakka, I can post new threads etc as normal.

I still prefer Opera for most sites, but I open up IE just for here.

Thankyou to you and Russ for the look into though. Much appreciated.

Firefox has been getting worse and worse with every clunky new update. IE has almost closed the gap by this point.

Here's hoping for either a decent revamping of FF so that it works like it used to or another alternative to spring up.

Huh?  Since I switched to FF, I have had no problems what so ever.  Even with the updates.

Have you tried switching to the FF 2.0?  That might be the issue.

FF 2.0 = a wiping of my bookmarks every month or so.

I've been running the latest IE for the last 2 months and it is as good as FF without wiping my bookmarks.

I've been using FF for several years now and not once have I lost my bookmarks. Not saying it doesn't happen, it just hasn't happened to me (or anyone else I personally know). I've also yet to have my browser hijacked, something that IE was once prone to (and took MS weeks to put out an effective patch). In fact, the only reason I have IE is because it's the only browser Microsoft allows to connect to its support features. Everything else FF 2.0!

A friend recommended Opera and his advise is usually VERY good. There are many advantages for using opera, not least that it has an 'active' memory of sites visited. So if you exit and log in again it eopens three pages you had open when you shut Opera down.

I am using Opera right now, I switch over to IE just to creat new posts, and when following links from MSN (which uses IE by default no matter how to set up your settings.

Yep, I'm using 2.0. The big problems were wiping bookmarks - and them having a huge hassle installing updated bookmarks. Not to mention Firefox sizes weirdly on 1680x1050 monitors.
