All I know is if I ever got caught running around with an ancient copy of  Ye Olde Tome Of Coruscating Smitery strapped above my head, exposed to rain, sun, and avian incontinence, I'd get my library card revoked.

But those are the perks of being a librarian.

Far more likely that they are just optional hands.

If it weren't for the thick tome on his right shoulder, I'd actually be liking this. But it's a massive thick book that sticks off the pauldron like a lonely tree growing out of an otherwise clear cliffside. The tome above I do not mind, as I assume it is a seperate piece, and it would be handy to have around for making some cool Warhammer terrain such as an altar on a hill or something. As is, it's kinda iffy. I'm sure some people will absolutely hate it. And a few will be nearly in love with it.

Where's the short skirt? The horn-rimmed glasses? The hair tied up into a bun, secured by a chewed #2 pencil? The come hither glance? (actually, that is there)

This isn't the Librarian I was looking for! The hanging bolt shell feed is kind of chaos'y, too.

Amongst the Stars, In the Night

When this first made the rounds a couple months ago I laughed at how comically over the top and misproportioned this "Spase MahRien Liebarbarian" is, with his UltrA goofy pose, humongous Tomes of Ancient Knowledge hat *and* shoulder peices, the "Stop! In Da Name uv Da Emporer!" outstreched arm as well as being built like a pair of overly thick conjoined tree trunks. This new pic only cements that opinion. Awful. Utterly awful.

This is as good as I could do with a little searching, and she's a 'librarian' fig I may very well snap up to accompany my marines into the heat of battle ...

Looks like a nice sculpt to me. Much better than the old ones anyway. Nice to know you guys are still down on everything GW does...... of course the Empire releases was pretty awful.

Actually I believe it to be a tome containing the Charm of Making which, when uttered in reverse, Un-Makes The Universe.  This is why it is strapped above his head - he is always accompanied by a servitor with a giant mirror on its back to stand in front of him so that he can read the thing backwards.

See, I always thought the Charm of Making was the Adeptus Mechanicus' name for a suppository.

Puts me in mind of the bit in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, where Fudge is introduced to Peter's pet turtle, and asks "Does he make?" Ahh... better days...

He's part of the "no child left behind act". GW WANTS YOU TO READ! See librarians read books! Books let you cast psychic powers and be awesome!

Whats cooler than baggy pants? Wearing BOOKS!

All this talk of fudge, behinds, children and the FBI is making Malfred very, very nervous. Jester too, as he's been in the underwear drawers again...

Silliness aside, it's a vast improvement from the old Librarian terminator in terms of detail, pose and motion. The books also make it clearly identifiable as a Librarian from across the table. Always a handy benefit.

As an aside. I've also noticed that Jester is probably THE most quoted person on this forum.
