The Hour of the Wolf has finally arrived!
If you were to take WHFB and merged them with games like Diplomacy, Risk, Shogun, Medevil, etc.... you'll have a fair idea of what the Hour of the Wolf is going to be.
I good bit of information was given in an earlier thread and if your already know your commited then you can go straight to registration via the link Campaign Registration
Basically since everything is online you don't have to do anything other than access the internet about once a day. Each turn will consist of a 24 hour period during which the players will have an opportunity to discuss the previous turn's results, plan the current turn's moves, execute the moves and purchase upgrades for their hero or recruit new troops into new or existing units. Each turn requires no more than 10 minutes of time per day, although it can be much more if you are participating in the strategy discussions. At the end of each 24 hour turn, a loremaster will end the turn and the computer will match up the players at each location, simulate a battle between them and return the results.
A lot of the fun is social - joining a faction of like minded players, forming battle groups to ravage the enemy lands as a group ( a much more efficient way to destroy the foe), debating what strategies your side should take, where to attack net. There will also be alot of tactical options for tailoring your personal attack style for your individual army.
You can play as any of 8 factions. On one side is the Forces of Ruin (Chaos, Skaven, Dark Elves, and the Kingdom of Nehekhara) On the other side stand the Forces of Order (Asrai, Dwarf, Human, and the land of Sarthailor) Now these 8 factions are not limited to just 8 races. For example the Dawi Zharr (Chaos Dwarfs) are contained within Chaos units. The Kingdom of Nehekhara combine elements of Khemri and the Undead. Sarthailor have both HE units and Bretonian units, etc...
If you've read any of the previous threads and are interested then the link for registration is below. The time has finally arrived. I apologize for the long delays in making this happen but we are finally ready to go. So follow the link provided below to get started with making your armies. We have done a fair bit of playtesting and I've done my best to address every issue we encountered. Of course I don't know how it will respond to 500+ users but I am optimistic it will go well. Thanks to all the campaign team and all the playtesters for their assistance along the way!
I'd like to make a point before we all get started too. I'd advise you all to remember that this is a game, it was done in my spare time (and the others' spare time), and not everything is going to be 100% perfect. I expect some issues to arise at some point, they always do. But remember it is JUST A GAME. Don't be too hung up on the rest of it.
And here's the link to the Campaign Registration page.
