There are a few models out there that seem too large for 25mm bases, but too small for larger bases. These include standard bearers that tip over, genestealers, and some character models.

I found a couple bases in the bits box of a local store. I think they were from War Machine, but they were slightly bigger than a standard GW base. I absolutely love how they are just big enough to stop models from tipping.

Does anyone else feel like there should be bigger bases available? If not, where can I get some more War Machine bases?

The trouble with larger bases is that they don't rank up properly.

I'd be happy with solid metal bases for some models though.

I am currently in the process of switching all of my bases to darkage/warmachine bases.

The sizes available are 30mm, 40mm, 50mm.

alot of places sell them. I get mine through mailorder mostly though.

TheWarStore carries the full range of Warmachine bases. Those rounded edges don't come cheap though.

No. Thats the only thing keeping these minis from getting bigger and bigger until they become grocery store toy soldier size.

And those nice round Warmachine bases do nothing for the square-based fantasy figures, which must rank up neatly.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I'm with you, Jfrazell. Size creep already is way out of hand.

That right here! GW's Team Morely can't keep figures to scale as is with the current base restriction and I can only imagine the gorrilla sized guardsmen, grots and similar if they bumped it up another 5-10mm. For particularly tumbly figs (ie: 'stealers, gaunts, las cannon troopers, etc..) it's nothing some lead weight in the base can't fix. But nothing can fix the already ridiculous oversize proportions of GW's figs if they unleash yet more scale creep.

Doing the same thing me-self. I just wish the WM bases came in 60mm too. Never satisfied...

I can sell you some nice bases if you'ld like them - they're 225 millimeter - I usually call them "dinner plates" but they are pretty cheap. Think of the modeling potential! Also, they fit very well on a table, and you no longer have to worry about the enemy being able to find anywhere to deepstrike into.

30mm is a much better size for GW minis.  Plastics are much more stable...even with weighted bases.

I buy many GW minis for other games and they all go on 30mm stands.  The effect on Warhammer fantasy is negligible as long as you stay away from rules-lawyers, purists, and idiots.

While we're at it, let's make GW cavalry stands bigger.  Ranking up GW cav units is the pits.

Pretty much agreed. In WFB it's advantageous to be on a smaller base. If you want to disadvantage yourself for modelling/looks, then I wouldn't complain.
