I am planning for my next army to be a Drop Pod Army.

Space Wolves where always my first love, and I used to be somewhat successful with them during third edition with the Rhino Rush. I realize that list is no longer viable. It seems like though that Drop Pods are the best way to do them now. Here is the list I am looking at, points haven't been calculated yet.

Wolf Lord in Terminator Armor w/ 4 Terminators w/ 2 AC, and 2 Combi-Plasma in Drop Pod

Venerable Dread in Drop pod

IA Command Rhino w/ Orbital Barrage

Wolf Scouts

x2 Grey Hunter in Drop Pod

Blood Claws in Drop Pod

Land Speeder w/ AC

Land Speeder w/ AC

Whirlwind

That's five Drop Pods with a decent amount of indirect harasment fire.

Is there anything I am missing, what changes should I make.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

My basic thought is that you should not go for termies. Im  SW list they are kinda pricey. I would strip everything down to the bone and load up on plasma. PLasma pistols especially. SW can let out some nasty barrages when they hit the ground. I think that will work better than assault cannons. Also, the ven dread has what on it? Las/missile seems a sif it would work well.

I would also drop the speeders, rhino and whirlwind in favor more troops and pods.

WGBL in TDA can take a donkey cannon... take four WG as retinue also in TDA, put in drop pod... now you have the only squad in the game that can field three donkey cannons. So yeah take termies. The two WG w/o donkey cannons should have combi-plasma.

Well I think the ABC in the 123, would need to be AFK, IMO. But then your opponent might be like WTF? And then you'd have to be like OMG, I'm so sorry this is just RAW. And THEN he'll be like STFU I don't play that way, and then you'll be all MEQ FTW! And he'll be all GEQ FTW, MEQ FTL! And then the flux capacitor would eat your CPU.

Mahu your force is very good. Its made of all tried and tested units that work in good synergy. Seems like youve been reading some stuff allready.

Just make sure you max plasma on your Hunters. Otherwise youll find it hard to deal with Nidzilla or Blood Angels.

Something elso to consider, alltough it kinda breaks the theme, is Predators. They were invented by SW after all.

A combination of Annis with Ven Dread forms a firebase that most assault armys cant deal with. Add troops in Pods to get something most shooty armys struggle against and you should be set up well.

I would switch out the BCs on treads for BC bikers. You also need one character on a bike to lead them. Your list currently only has four squads... kind of on the light side to be perfectly honest. I would lose the command rhino to free up points.

Why did I find Lord Hat's post more intelligible than Greens!? Whats BCs on tread? And what was it that meltas in drop pods can break down real quick? Annis?

Keep the list as is, except drop the whirlwind for another landspeeder. The lone rhino is probably not a good bet, but I'd had to suggest another drop pod considering how expensive they are.

BCs on tread = Blood Claws in rhinos
meltas in drop pods = Grey Hunters w. meltagun in drop pod
Annis = Predator Annilihilators (sp?)

Mahu;  You might not have heard this but GW is going to bring out a plastic DROP Pod kit, should be later in the year from what I see.

Also, both Mark and the other store I buy stuff at have told me that they can not get Space Wolf kits anymore from GW.  One store told me that they have not been able to get a space wolf codex for 6 months.

Mark told me about this problem when I was building my Space Wolf army last summer.  And if you seen the status all the empty space that Sci Fi has, I think it might be true.

Makes me think that after the Orks that Space wolves might get some goodies.
