List I came up with.  Figured I'd check to see what people say before I start buying/assembling all the models

Farseer on Jetbike (Spear, Runes of Warding, Spirit Stones, Doom, Mind War)

2x 10 Dire Avengers (Exarch w/PW&Shimershield, Defend, Bladestorm)
2xWave Serpents (Shurcan, TL Scatterlaser, Spirit Stones, Vectored Engines)

2xFalcons (Scatter Laser, Shurkin Cannon, Holofield, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones)

2x8 Fire Dragons
2xWave Serpents (Shurcan, TL Starcannon, Spirit Stones, Vectored Engines)

One major thing jumps out straight away; do you think you'll have enough terrain to hide 6 grav tanks? Otherwise you'd better be lucky at getting the first turn in Gamma games as you may find half of your transports are smoking wrecks before you get to move them.

Hmm, Dira Avengers are good vs. horde armies but not vs. MEQs.
I would put 6 FIre Dragons into the Falcons instead into Serpents.
This frees some points to get a hard hitting unit such as Shining Spears.

The downside to putting Fire Dragons into the Falcons is when they get stuck walking/hiding in Escalation missions. Skyth seems to be building for a metagame with a lot of Escalation; I also would be very worried about trying to hide all those tanks in Alpha and Gamma missions.

That said, I?d still drop one of the FD squads in favor of harlies (6 w/kisses & seer) to ride in one of the Falcons. They?re not so vulnerable when they?re on the table without the tank. He?d still be able to afford a squad of 3 bikes w/ShC +bikelock with spear and embolden. That?s another scoring unit and another tankbuster.

Two other possible anti-tank tweaks I?d consider would be giving one or two of the Serpents twin Brightlances (expensive as it is), and/or taking out Mindwar for Eldritch Storm, believe it or not. Storm spins tanks so that your S6 guns can be more effective, and it doesn?t require LOS in the new codex, so the Farseer can hide behind stuff while he does it.

I think this list is lacking a bit in killing power.  you can get close your opponent but once your there you might not be able to the job at hand.  And with no CC units your not going to prevent any of your opponents army from shooting at all of your fragile Avengers and dragons once they touch earth.

I would try adding a few small close combat basted units and put them in the falcons. Or lose one of the dragon squads for Banshees and change the falcons to fire prisms as right now the flacons carrying capacity, one of this tanks best attributes, is not being utilized at.  That and Two Fire Prisms with the newest rules set work vary well together.

Okay, second try here-

Farseer (Jetbike, Spear, Warding, Spirit stones, Doom, Storm)
2x10 Dire Avengers (Exarch w/Shimmershield, Defend, Bladestorm)
2 Waveserpents (Stones, Vectored, Shurkin Cannon, 1 w/TL Scatter, 1 w/TL Brightlance)
2 Prisms (Holofield, Stones, Vectored, Shurkin Cannon)
8 Firedragons
Waveserpent (Stones, Vectored, Shurkin Cannon, TL Starcannon)
10 Banshees
Waveserpent (Stones, Vectored, Shurkin Cannon, TL Starcannon)

Yes, I built the list with Escalation in mind. I don't want anything that has to deploy seperately.

This rules out Harlies (Plus I don't want to wait for them/paint them...).

I still haven't put anything together or bought anything yet, so options are still open.

Harlies in a Falcon are unbelivably awesome, I can't understand why you wouldn't want them in there. So what if you deploy separately, you cann't be shot at over 24" away and being shot at under 12" away you're looking at barely happening.

I don't want them because of the models not being available and they look like they'd be a pain to paint

Plus Harlies hitching a ride in a Falcon just doesn't seem right to me. Just doesn't fit well in a Mech list. I'm sure they're quite effective on the battlefield.

Here's a question-If I buy a fire prism, does it have the Falcon Turret in there so I could use it as a Falcon or a Prism?

You're a mech tau player, right Skyth? This second list is less Tau-like with the inclusion of the banshees. But it still feels like it's built mainly on the principles of having a couple of weedy, shooty infantry units in skimmer transports backed up by a pair of hammerheads and some short-range, low-AP shooting for antitank.

One time it happened to me that I built a Word Bearers list and playtested it once, but immediately realized it played almost exactly the same as my Khorne list. A good list is a good list, but if you're looking for a change (and assuming I'm right in remembering that you play Tau) it might require some radical rethinking to get at the advantages specific to the Eldar list.

The Falcon turret is used up in making the Prism, unless you're really good with magnets.

Nope.  No Tau here.  I have Marines, Alpha Legion, Guard, Daemonhunters, and Tyranids.  Eldar are my 6th army.

My bad, no offense. I based my assumption off your tau-like avatar.

It looks very much like a mech tau army. Not that a tau-like-eldar is not fun to play. Maybe it is, and they can have a lot in common.

*blink blink* Ummm...That's my Alpha Legion Daemon Prince *laughs* I won't tell him you called him a Tau.
