As stated this is a 1750 pt. Dark Angel army. It has exactly zero assault cannons, a massive number of ONE power weapon and enough plasma to kill half of my combat power in one turn. What it does have is four las/plas squads and the potential for 14 scoring units. The scouts are in there because I like them and you should too.  Which you won't.

HQ

[135] Company Master, plasma pistol, powersword, melta bombs

[140] Command Squad, apothecary w/ plasma pistol, 4 bolters

TROOPS

[215] 10 Tactical Squad, 1 lascannon, 1 plasma gun, plasma pistol

[215] 10 Tactical Squad, 1 lascannon, 1 plasma gun, plasma pistol

[120] 5 Tactical Squad, 1 plasma gun, 1 plasma pistol

ELITES

[135] 5 Company Veterans, 1 lascannon, 1 plasma gun

[135] 5 Company Veterans, 1 lascannon, 1 plasma gun

[185] 10 Scout Squad, 5 sniper rifles, 1 heavy bolter, 4 bolters

HEAVY SUPPORT

[225] 10 Devastator Squad, 4 heavy bolters

[245] 10 Devastator Squad, 4 missile launchers

1750 points

A note on possible improvements. Every plasma pistol (except the master's) could be exchanged for power weapons.

good old stand and shoot - with no counterassault and if i may ask, how do you think to win RECON mission?

some people think, its nearly impossible to kill 70+ marines (esp. with the new Dark Angels and those split-hype), let me say its possible and its more likely then not!

if you play only on desert tables (nearly no terrain) with missions like SEEK and DESTROY you may have a chance, but even then, stand and shoot gets so fast boring as hell.

reconsider some of the FUN-units in the new DA-codex!

I find it funny that people assume Recon is unwinnable by walking Marines. I've done it on many an occaison, facing off against some very good players (including Dakka (the store) regulars) and in extreme terrain (such as a board where the whole middle was difficult terrain down the whole length).

DA, especially, have a good chance at doing it, since they can walk combat squads forward and still have all their heavies firing.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

You dont have to get to the other side to win a recon mission. you just got to make sure the enemy doesnt get to the other side and you get more Victory points.

But... its a kind of boring list. you have to make a good combination of shooting,(counter)assault, fast units and enough scoring units...

A space marine army like yours doesnt get beaten often..because there are just to much tough marines on the table. but it wont win a lot of games either.. most times it will be draws..i guess...

I would use the normal space marine codex for this list. You dont need dark angels for this army list and this way you are not constricted to 5/10 size squads..

the normal space marine codex also makes it possible to give your devastator squads infiltrate. This is a great option,, because then you can choose to deploy them at the end of your deployment... (infront of the enemies big imperial tanks...)
