I started the new one and couldn't get into it. Not gonna go so far as to say it was as bad as a CS Goto offering because it may have just been a bad week for me, but the writing was definately not up to King's standard. On that note, I've read several rumours that he is on the outs with the Black Library, but nothing definate.

All I know is that Bill King better get off of his ass and write the sequel to "Farseer".

I like how the dreadnought changes arms.. And they meet two different Imperial Guardsmen with the same name...

Its actually written by two different people, which I think is why it gets so wonky sometimes.

The drinking halls of Fenris or South London as its sometimes called

It was ok if you are a SW fan as whether you like it or not you would buy it, The DA were not shown in their best light but otherwise it was an ok read. NOT as good as KINGS but /i guess he is gone now and we have to make do.

Bill King, is currently writing his own novels. on his own forums he said that black library was going on without him and that those new authors are going to finish space wolf and felix and gotrek.

As much as he poured into those novels it is a shame that black library couldn't keep him happy. as for farseer, he said he has no idea if or when he will ever get back to it..

you can read more about it here

i cannot remember which article it was but a few minutes of searching should get you there

CS Goto is hard to follow. I am reading the new Eldar novel and it was very confusing at first and you have to go to the vocabulary in the back to understand his vocabulary for Eldar words. Reading doesn't have to be this hard.

Hmmmm, I guess I am in the minority here but I hated the earlier SW books. I thought they were shallow and predictable. That there is a new author is almost enough reason to pick the new one up.... from the library. After having wasted money on a few black library books already I won't be taking that route again.

Is it written by GS Soto? If so take it back or burn it. He's a horrible author. Sci-fi isn't supposd to be Umberto Eco but at the same time, a good story and consistency is essential!

No wait it was written by Lee Lightner. Read the first chapter online. Looks like crap.

Now Iron Snakes...that looks cool.

CS Goto's "Eldar Prophecy" is awful. If the space wolf book is anything close to that level of garbage I suggest you carefuly use a pair of pliers to deposit it into the nearest compost heap, then pour gasoline on it, light it, then piss on it. You would think he could at least read one of the eldar codexes rather then picking a few words out of a WD and writing a second rate detective story about it.

I'm about halfway through it and enjoying it so far.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

if you can seperate the author from the book and just read it for enjoyment sake, the book will be a happy surprise. if, however, you link the book to the author, you will find it very dissappointing as they do not have the same style..

both authors have their merits and to each his own when it comes to liking or passing on the books. I would encourage you to follow the SW story line and if you do enjoy it, continue with it. If it isnot your cup of tea, dump it in the ocean..
