Came across this in the message baords.  The discussion is whether these will be the first models to be prepainted.  The detail is nice, and gotta love the flesh golem, (first pic)  Mounted Lion knights is the second.  Sorry for the format, can't seem to fix the position of the pics.

That one looks like it would make a decent deamon prince.

Actually, they're the long awaited (!) mounted Griffin Cavalry...

As for per-painted: the Griffins are definitely going to be pre-painted, the Flesh Golem - not known for sure, but probably (unfortunately!)

The Knights look about on par with GW's Empire and Bretonnian Knights.

Still, the should be cheaper than the $60 for 3 Alahan Knights.

That golem is awesome! When I saw it I immediately thought 'deamon prince?"

If they are going to be pre-painted, how much will it affect the price on the model?

Actually no one besides the folks at Rackham know whether the minis will be prepainted, and since even the guys doing the translations have not heard of them being prepainted I would rather be careful with this statement.
They will be plastic, that´s all that is known up until now.

I'm pretty sure Jean Bey himself stated that the Griffin Heavy Cav will be in plastic AND will be our first chance to checkout how awesome the pre-paints will be...

I'm a little dubious, but definately intrigued...

Besides, we are also developing a range of plastic miniatures, painted and assembled, like the range we offer for AT-43.

This plastic miniatures range will be entirely compatible with the current metal range. In fact, our goal is to release the troops found in each army supplement, in ready to play boxes (meaning each box will contain the valid number of miniatures to form a unit of its own).

Obviously, a large part of the miniatures that will be produced in plastic already exist in metal. But some completely new miniatures are planned to be plastic, like the Griffin heavy cavalry for instance. (You will be soon able to witness the quality of these miniatures in a few weeks time).

Well, one could read it into it, but there´s no definite comment with regard to the cavalry.

Where have you gotten the impression that ANY plastics from Rackham will NOT be pre-painted?

For the future, it really looks like plastic = pre-painted.

That's the impression many have gotten from Jean Bey's messages.

Believe me, if they are going to release plastic miniatures that are NOT pre-painted, many of the complaints will disappear (I actually prefer plastic in many cases!).

But, unfortunately, I don't think that's the case.

I'm fairly sure that if it is plastic and coming from Rackham, it is going to be pre-painted.

The Abberation Prime is plastic and not prepainted, so where does this leave uns now? Also Fire Industries Resin Kits are not painted.

The cavalry might be prepainted, but until Bey tells us so... we don´t know it for sure.

Well, that's to be expected from Forgeworld-type resin models. Un-pre-painted plastics sound good to me, though.
Despite their beautiful sculpts, some of Rackham's figures are a nightmare to assemble and keep undamaged with
their spindly-thin and hard to pin limbs, and their soft lead.
Which model is Abberation Prime? The golem at the start of this thread? If not, linky please!

Complete unpainted plastic and costs 25 Euro, it is nearly double the size of its smaller brother. Also you can switch parts on the finished model to represent three different versions of it. Try this with metal. I know a lot 40klers that use it as a Carnifex.

What has the world come to?

I'm quoting myself!

Anyway, that's the part that's got everyone worried...

The point that Jean Bey has said that all future plastic releases will be pre-painted.

Really, it is OK to disagree with the Almighty Red Dragon and Rackham every now and then.
