James Swallow did an amazing job with Flight of the Eisenstein. Restored my faith that I lost with the second and third novel that the Heresy story would be ruined.

The flight through the warp and the failure of the Geller field was really well done.  Garro is as good as Loken (as Sci-Fi characters go).

The only 40K that I've seen or read from Mitchell Scanlon was "Fifteen Hours", which had a nice "gritty" feel to it, and wasn't too bad.

On the scale between Dan Abnett and C.S.Goto (whom I personally feel should be banned from the 40K play-pen), he seems to be closer to the "Abnett" end of the scale...

Maybe he didn't file for the patent until after the Heresy?
