I just noticed this, and I don't know if anybody has posted it: store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us Apparently the new Battalion will lose two pegasi knights and gain 4 men at arms. Also, the pegasi knights are being repackaged to 1 for $15. No matter how you spin this one, it's less stuff for the same cost.

Whoo, hoo! The Increase Ogre Ninja strikes again! Funny how stuff seems to need 'repackaging'. But, kinda nice that you can get one instead of three, but should't it be 1/3 of the price?

When you consider the cost of just the knights, bowmen and men at arms are 105 if bought separately, I guess they thought it was too good of a deal.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase. |

I'm glad I already have 18 Pegasus Knights.

Well, as Ed Maule once famously said: "Therion's from Finland, where comp does not exist. Where he's from the trash we're forced to field for a tournament would lose to a 12 year old." - bigchris1313 |

RAF is the most tournament popular build for Brets right now.
It's not surprising that they're making the main components more expensive - people will buy them anyway.
In related news, expect Pegasus Knights to bite whenever Brets gets released again.

How truly special. For what you expect your Bretonnian army to be, this is a craptacular deal. Of course I want my army to consist of mostly peasant sword-fodder. Look, by giving up two pegasi, I can get four more peasants!

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Nah. It still requires about the same amount of labor to package and ship it, plus the cost of boxes and stuff is probably only slightly less for the smaller box. I know none of that is "value-added" from the consumers' standpoint (aside from the ability to buy a single pegasus, which can be nice for Empire and Dog of War players) but cost presumably plays some part in the final retail price.

Yeah this is truly rubbish. I noticed the same thing recently in my local store. The Emprie re package was similar. I never understood why you would want to loose hand gunners in order to get 8 milita. What the hell can 8 milita do? Sadly GW history is full of these shoddy re packages. And don't even get me started about the Eldar Army battle force. 5 Dire avengers!!!! Ye gods!!!! Some of these sets are good, some are terrible.

Thanks for the head up on this. I currently only have three Pegasus Knights, I will get another three before the prices triple.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
