I have played Dark Angels for a long time for three reasons: a) my friend told me too b) i liked the secretive monastic idea and c) they used to be quite good.........now, they nerfed the deathwing (1 assault cannon per squad)......the ravenwing (only one assault cannon pers squad)..........and thus nullifying the $3000+ I have spent building a huge army (i.e. any extra cash i had over the past 9 years).......

Well, I love the whole idea of the Space wolfs, and I have a bunch of extra models from over the years, plus I will be repainting some DA ones.  i will still play a DA army, but I want to play with me space wolves too.......

So, if Anyone will build me a 2000 point Space wolf list, I would be very appreciative.  I have not played them before, but my friend plays them quite often and effectively.  You can use any model to your hearts desire.....

I like the idea of 9 wolf guard termies w/ 3 assault cannons, 2x15 man squads of blood claws w/ 3 power fists and melta, blood claw bikers, and the Leman Russ exterminator.............I am awaiting my codex, so please help me get started..............

Thanks,

Soup

Well, I won't build you a list, but I can give you some ideas. Wolf Priests are great I've seen them in action and they have never disappointed. As have Blood Claw bike packs/squads. As for Leman Russ... meh if you want one then go ahead, but I have never seen one do all that well (not to great of Ap busting weapons in a world of space marines). A better option for a heavy support choice would be Long Fangs. All of these tips I'm giving are just based on my observations at gaming clubs est. I dunno maybe someone else will build you a list. Probably a good idea would be playing around with the Interactive Army Builder.

Also, more of a side note, why does everyone want other people to design them a list? Shouldn?t you just take what you want to use in a game?

Come back one year.......

I want someone to make me a list, or just give me suggestions. I am new to them and haven't got my army book yet. Im trying to keep the ideas in my head going.......

T.O.

I just wanted to point out that the space wolf temies are a little bit more expensive than even a dark angels player will be used to. 45 points before you give them any weapons. Oh and give em wolf tooth necklaces so they can whack anything (anything, its 3rd Ed remember) on 3s.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste

Nice list Angron but without transports Space Wolves are already dead.

They are a close shooting and combat army, that's why it is essential to mount all the Blood Claws and Grey Hunters in Rhinos or even better in Drop Pods.

Grey Hunters in Drop Pods are among the best basic troops in the game, they have devastating close range firepower and with true grit and up to 2 powerfists, can receive any charge and still win.

My 2000 pts list is roughly the following :

Wolf Lord-
-Frost Blade, Combi-plasma Terminator Armor, Runic Charm

4 Wolf Guard Body Guards-
-2 Powerfists, 2 power weapons, 2 Assault Cannons, 2 Combi-plasma, Terminator Armor, Runic Charms
Drop Pod

Wolf Guard Battle Leader
-Frost Blade, Storm Shield, Bike

Venerable Dreadnought
-Assault Cannon, Heavy Flamer
Drop Pod

5 Wolf Scouts-
-Meltagun, 2 Plasma Pistols, Power Weapon, Meltabombs

8 Grey Hunters-
-2 Power Fists, Meltagun, 2 Plasma Pistols
Drop Pod

8 Grey Hunters-
-Power weapon, Flamer, Plasma Pistol
Drop Pod

8 Grey Hunters-
-2 Power Fists, Meltagun, 2 Plasma Pistols
Drop Pod

5 Blood Claw bikers
1 Powerfist

Landspeeder Tornado-
-Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolter

Landspeeder Tornado-
-Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolter

Whirlwind

Sometimes I go all Mech with Blood Claws in Rhinos and Grey Hunters in Razorbacks, but I've been much more successful with Drop Pods, especially against armies like Tau or Eldar.

You realize that it is likely that all terminator squads will only get one Assault cannon in the not-to-distant future. I would hate for you to build a brand new army only to have it "nerfed" again.

Why don't you look through this forum for examples of good DA lists and tactics and try to use what you've got. Assault Cannons are all the marine army has to offer.

Actually Assault Cannon Cheese will live on in space wolves until they get there own new codex. Space Wolf Terminators have different costs, and different rules, therefor even if they make it only one assault cannon per terminator squad for codex space marines, spaces wolves won't be affected until the release of their own codex.

That said... the proper way to play space wolves is not to run forward, guns blazing. Now if you're playing against an all shooty army... you're going to hafta hug cover, use the armor of the terminators, and all the assault cannons, to weed your way forward... However, against any other type of army, you sit back, unload into them, let them come to you, and then counter attack... my old space wolf list.... very simliar to the one posted, never lost a game... but when I saw the advantages that normal marines had over space wolves... I had to make the switch.
