But I just picked up Eiryss and Kell today. I don't often see her discussed in terms of combos with Protectorate, because our buffs tend to only help our models, but what is her battlefield use? I know Kell's (Cleanser BOOM!)

Assassination. Harrassment. I also use her for camping tokens while invisible, as it causes some frustration for opponents. Only thing I've seen that reliably kills her is the Coven's Sytgian Abyss, and that saves some of my other solos for a casting or two. Given the change she will Assault an enemy caster and strip some focus for a round. Other than that I use phantom bolts to hunt enemy solos and unit leaders. She hardly ever survives a game, but always soaks up more attention than anything else could for her points.

She's there to harass and disrupt enemy plans. I usually camp her out in cover and have her shoot a disruption bolt either at the caster or at a particularly dangerous 'jack. Occasionally I'll have her take out unit leaders or troublesome solos. Rarely I've used her for the caster-kill, though under the right circumstances she's quite capable of it. As Keldrin said, she WILL die, most likely, but that's more energy the enemy is devoting to her rather than, say, your Knights, paladin, 'jacks or casters.

I tend to use her to disrupt everything from jacks with arc nodes to the caster him/her self. I walk her up with my caster and use her to "protect him".

What Protectorate player leaves their jacks so exposed? I guess I never saw Eiryss as much of a threat, hence why it took so long for me to get her. But then again, Protectorate has that nifty no-shooty ability on their warjacks...

malfred: Eiryss has a few uses. 1) People are paranoid about her. Not so much as they used to be, but they still fear her stripping their warcaster of focus. So they'll devote disproportionate resources to killing her. 2) She's awesome for dropping unit leaders. A bit less awesome on solos (the Pow on her shots is a bit low) but still decent at that job. 3) Shutting down arc nodes. If you're going first, feel free to deploy Eiryss forward, right in the middle and then spam Invisibility. Have her bug out when things look hairy, or go on a suicide charge. Remember Eiryss can bayonet charge, fail the charge and *still* get the crossbow shot off. This gives her a respectable 22" threat range (10" charge movement + 12" on the crossbow). If you're going second, just counter deploy her in cover. Kell works in a similar fashion, but he doesn't have Eiryss's awesome defensive abilities (pathfinder and invisible). AD him in cover somewhere and have him snipe enemy soldiers as they advance. I find he's a lot harder to use; he lacks Eiryss's versatility and he'd much more of a pain to redeploy (lacking pathfinder, and he loses most of his abilities if he moves). If you are running cleansers, Kell is the perfect guy to shoot them in the back. He's effectively RAT10 with an aiming bonus, which is high enough to reliably hit a cleanser in the back while its engaged in melee.

Oh and #4: stripping a warcaster of Focus to line up assassination. Or just screw them up. Warcasters are useless without focus. Oh and #5: slowing Deathjack down.

In terms of combos, Eiryss works great with Kreoss (knock the WC down, then disrupt) and Severius (Death Sentence means Eiryss is locked in for disruption).

use Skarre to kill her - sacrificial strike doesn't need los - if your facing her a lot & she's being a pain. like many of the solos they can be a real pain up the behind until you find a way of getting rid of them. a pistol wraith can also do the trick.

I actually like to use her in a body gaurd type role for severius and some of my weaker casters. Severius control range is so big that a caster of jack has to get close for the kill then Eyriss disrupts them in combination with Death sentence can be quite effective.

For Cygnar, Eiryss+GMCA= Tag Team from HELL... using both as solo hunters, you can flank like a madman, especially if you're running Stormsmiths... oops, wrong faction. :(

Cygnar must... SUPPRESS... this... CULT that refers to it's self as The Protectorate of Minoth. They must be brought back into the fold... or they will see their god before they had planned on, which Cygnar will be more than happy to broker...

Sniped GMCA is also very efficient in taking the elf down as invisibility is no hindrance to him.
