So I don't have the .pdf but it's been pretty easy to figure out the point costs from the rumor threads. Half the fun of the new restrictive codices is to figure out how the hell to use them. Here's two attempts, one shooty & normal, the other risky as hell but more along the lines of what I've always wanted to do with a 40K army.


Shooty version:

Chaplain w/ jump pack & meltabombs - 125
(the only reason this guy isn't Lemartes is because I feel like he'll be more expensive when the list actually gets printed and I hate hate hate his model. "You! Artificer! I have three square inches of my armor that remains un-bedecked by a purity seal. Attend to that or face my wrath!"

2 x 10 marines with missile launcher, plasma gun, & power weapon - 460
(these will act as four units, the 5 guys with plasma either sitting up close and firing or running for objectives together. I'd love to get powerfists here but I couldn't find the 20 points.)

2 x 10 devastators with 2 missile launchers & two heavy bolters - 520
(also gonna split into four units, 2 HBs in two and 2 MLs in the others. Wish I could put storm bolters on those sergeants nowadays, they'd go well with the HBs.)

2 x 5 scouts, missile launcher - 200
(infiltration + the cheapest heavy weapon squad the BAs can get nowadays. I could be tempted to turn these guys into squads of two attack bikes each if I feel like I need more mobility, or maybe drop one for another bike and fists in the tactical squads.)

2 x single multimelta bike units - 100
(Let me correct myself: attack bikes are now the cheapest heavy weapons squads the Blood Angels have).

4 "free" death company + two extra guys = 6 with jump packs - 90

Totals:
1495 points
40 marines, 10 scouts, 6 Death Company, 2 bikes, 1 no-brainer chaplain
8 missile launchers, 4 heavy bolters, 2 plasma guns & 2 multimeltas



Wacky jump pack nightmare version:

Chaplain, jump pack & melta bombs - 125

4 x 5 assault marines, plasma pistol & power fist - 720
(I plan on using them in two groups of two squads each, letting them hug cover & support each other until it behooves them to charge)

10 assault marines, 2 plasma pistols & power fist - 305
(this should probably be like 8 vet assault marines with flamers or meltas and a thunder hammer, but I'm not sure about the costs so I'm playing it safe for now.)

3 x 1 multimelta bike - 150

2 x whirlwind - 170

 5 death company with jump packs - 25


Totals:
1495 points
30 assault marines, 5 DC, 3 bikes, two tanks
6 plasma pistols, 5 powerfists, 3 multimeltas & 2 pie plates

Dakka on World of Warcraft:

MANNAHNIN: I know two guys who have had to quit the game cold turkey because the time investment required by it caused problems with their family life.

JFRAZELL: So in other words, nature is self selecting out those not fit to survive and breed? Hail WOW replacing savannah lions since 1997...

Okay, lotsa views, no comments. I took some advice at the B&C (snicker if you will, but I'll take advice wherever I can get it before dropping a few hundred bucks on an army). I thought these two versions might be a little better.

SHOOTY:

Lemartes - 125

2 x 5 assault marines
with plasma pistol & powerfist - 360

2 x 5 scouts
with missile launcher - 200

2 x 10 devastators
with 4 missile launchers - 540

10 devs
with 4 heavy bolters - 250
(these guys can be dumped to add 5 guys and a second plaspistol each to the troop slot assault squads if I find they're underpowered)

5 free Death company + jumppacks - 25


1500 points
30 devastators, 10 assault marines, 10 scouts, 5 DCs and one uber-chaplain
10 missile launchers, 4 HBs, 2 plasma pistols, 2 powerfists, one power weapon, and 5 rending chainswords



JUMPPACKERS:

I felt like there should be absolutely no infantry in this list because of escalation. Either everything deploys or nothing does. It's a little light on shooting power, but maybe the speed will let me put powerfists where I need then when I need them.

2 x 5 assault marines
2 plasma pistols & powerfist - 390

2 x 10 veteran assault marines
2 flamers, power weapon, powerfist - 600

2 x typhoonado
(HB, AC, & typhoon launcher) - 220
(kind of like above, I can drop these and add 5 guys to each of the troop squads if I want less guns & more bodies)

2 multimelta attack bikes - 100

6 death company with jumppacks - 60


1495
30 jumppackers, 6 Death Company, 2 landspeeders, 2 attack bikes, 1 independent character
4 powerfists, 3 power weapons, 2 flamers, 4 plasma pistols, 2 HB/AC/typhoons, 2 multimeltas, 6 dudes with rending
