A friend of mine recently let me borrow his Chaos Codex, so I decided to put together a army list for kicks. I normally play Necrons and have been thinking about playing Chaos for a while now because I love incoherently evil armies. This is a first attemt at a Chaos list, so here goes.
HQ- Chaos Lord: 60 pts. (135 pts. total)
- Daemon Armour (20 pts.)
- Dark Blade (25 pts.)
- Daemonic Mutation (10 pts.)
- Master-Crafted Plasma Pistol (20pts.)
Troops
- 10 Chaos Space Marines with Heavy Bolter and Plasma Gun- (155 pts.)
- 10 Chaos Space Marines with Bolt Pistols and CC Weapons + Furious Charge Veteran Skill. (170 pts.)
- Rhino to mount the Close Combat Marines (50 pts.)
Elites
- 10 Khorne Beserkers (190 pts.)
- 5 Chaos Chosen upgraded to Terminator status + Mark of Nurgle (205 pts.)
- 3 Chaos Obliterators (210 pts.)
Heavy Support
- 1 Chaos Predator with Lascannon (Main Weapon), Heavy Bolter(Side Sponsons), and Mutated Hull (160 pts.)
- 1 Chaos Defiler upgraded to Indirect Fire (175 pts.)
Total Points- 1450
The only problem is that the final 50 points needed for 1500 are up in the air. Should I add a second Rhino for my other Chaos Marine squad or simply add more gear to my Chaos Lord? Also, should I add Daemons? If so, how should I fit them in to keep the number at 1500?
The way I see it, this list contains a balanced army that packs a punch in both Close Combat and Long-Range shooting. Feedback is always appreciated.
