Can Deathwatch Marines who have selected special ammo (e.g., kraken rounds) still fire normal bolter rounds?

I thought they could, they chamber the special rounds individually (except for the HB adaptations). Although I could be wrong or remembering 3rd ed rules.

Well the rules say they are issued the special ammo, it doesn't say the ammo replaces their normal bolter rounds. I'd say yes you could use normal bolter round, except in the case of the M40. That's an actual modification to the bolter and should only be allowed it's heavy 2 fire rate.

The stalker shells and M2 scope don't preclude firing normal bolter rounds. You can choose one or the other, subject to movement restrictions.

Prefer the kraken rounds myself. A 30" range AP4 bolter works wonders from a static firebase, and the looks of surprise from tau opponents is priceless.
