Game 1: Patrol
Opponent: Space Marine
HQ:
Master with terminator squad and 2 assault cannon
Librarian with terminator squad and 2 assault cannon
Troops:
4, 6 men las/plas squad
Fast Attack:
2 assault cannon speeder
~8  men assault squad
Heavy Support:
2 Predator with twin linked lascannon turret and heavy bolter sponson.

Setup:
I won the set up roll. I decided to setup in the corner instead of the board edge.  I deployed my entire platoon into one of the rock formations in my deployment zone, one sentinel on each corner of the deployment zone. He set up one of his tac squads out of LOS.  I moved both sentinels up 6" before the game starts.
I won the roll for going first thanks to tarot, and decided to go first.

Turn 1:
IG: Moved 2 infantry squads to get better LOS for next turn.  The other 2 infantry squad held and check to LOS, and was not able to shoot at anything.  Both sentinels continued to move up.  The command squad moved to a better position for LD support.
SM: Moved tac squad up into woods.

Trun 2:
IG: Basilisk, command squad with chimera, and Russ arrives from reserve.  Infantry squads held and took pot shots, both the russ and the basilisk took shots at the lone tac squad on the table.  I think I killed about 2 marines, he passed morale check.
SM: 2 Tac squad, 1 predator, both terminator squads make it from reserve.  Terminators deep strikes in front of the rock formations where the infantry are located, close to one of the short board edges.  They unload into 2 different infantry squads, killed 6 from one squad and 7 from the other.  The predator took a shot at the sentinel and blows it up.  The tac squad took a shot at the russ and did nothing.  The other two tack squads move up to get ready for next turn.
I fail both moral checks for the infantry, they fall back.

Turn 3:
IG: Iron fist squad, Demolisher, hell hound, vet squad with plasma gun, vet squad with melta gun, and 1 hell hound makes from reserve.  Both infantry squad that is falling back rallies (thank you Iron Discipline!), and gets back into the rock formation.  All of my reserves moves from the short board edge to get in range of the terminators.  I short the demolisher, plasma vet squad, melta vet squad, 2 chimera, hell hound, and the plasma gun from the iron fist squad into the 2 terminator squad.  The result was that the librarian was the only one left from his squad, and the master had 2 terminators with assault cannons.
2 lascannon shot into the predator and was able to immobilize it.  The russ, basilisk, and the sentinel continues to shoot into the tac squad leaving just the lascannon left.  He passed all moral checks again.
SM: Both speeders, the last tac squad, and the other predator makes it on to the board.  The librarian moves closer to the vet squad with plasma guns getting ready to assault.  He casts smite and was able to kill 2 vets.  The master and the terminators tries to get a bead on the demolisher, but the wreck of the sentinel blocks LOS of one of the assault cannons, the other assault cannon shoots to no effect.  The immobilized predator shoots at the demolisher at no effect.  3 Lascannon from the tac squad and the new predator tries to shoot at the russ to no effect.  The speeders moves along the other short board edge to out flank my left.  The librarian tries to assault but as stopped short by the difficult terrain.

Turn 4:
IG: My hellhound makes it, the only think left in reserve is the inquisitor.  I fire the plasma vets into the librarian and kills him, losing 2 vets in the process.  The demolisher and the melta gun vet squad repositions to get LOS to the master and between the two of them they wipe out that squad.  The basilisk finally kills the last marine with the lasscannon.  The russ fires into on of the other tac squad, killing 2, the chimera and the sentinel together was able to drop another 2 marines, with the master dead, the marines finally fails their first moral check and falls back.  3 lascannons from the infantry and the iron fist squad blows off the lascannon turret from the immobilized predator.  The other lascannon missed the fresh predator.  Both hell hounds move off to my left flank to block LOS to the side of my russ, anticipating the 2 speeders coming from the side.
SM:  The assault squad makes it, he decided to hide this behind cover to deny my shooting.  The speeders continues to move, they hide behind a hill and hopes to be in range of my vehicles for next turn.  The immobilized predator fires its heavy bolters into the last plasma vet.  2 Lascannon from the tac squad and the predator shoots at my russ again for no effect.

Turn 5:
IG:  Inquisitor finally makes it onto the table.  The hellhounds are repositioned to block for the infantry and the russ side.  The Chimera near the long board edge moves behind cover waiting for the speeders.  All lasscannon fires at the predators and all miss.  The basilisk drops a shell on the mobile predator and immobilize and stuns it.  The russ missed with it's battle cannon.  The melta gun vets falls back into cover.
SM:  The speeders makes it around the hill.  Only one has LOS to the chimera, it shoots and does fails to rend.  The other blows up the sentinel.  2 Lascannons from the tac squad does nothing to the russ.

Turn 6:
IG:  The chimera blows up one of the speeders, the hellhound are not able to get LOS to the other speeder unless they moved through woods, I decided that at this point it is not worth the risk of immobilizing my self, so they just hold position.  The basilisk and the russ each fires into the last 2 tack squads, and both missed completely.  The lascannons tries to shoot down the last predators and was able to stun the one with out lascannons.
SM:  Speeder moves for a shot at the hellhounds, and was out of range for the assault cannon.  The lascannons continues to shoot at the russ and finally blows it up.

Result:
I got a minor victory, even though I did not suffer much casualty at all, I was unable to drop 3 of his tac squads to below 50% so he was able to claim them as part of his victory points.  I think I missed a major by less than a 100 points.

Game 2: Secure and control

Opponent: Tau
HQ:
Sha'o with twin missile pods, plasma rifle, feel no pain
Sha'o with twin missile pods, plasma rifle
Elites:
3 crisis with missile pods and twin plasma rifle
3 crisis with missile pods and twin plasma rifle
6 stealth suit
Troops:
devilfish with smart missile, 12 fire warriors
devilfish with smart missile, 11 fire warriors
Heavy Support:
hammerhead with rail gun
hammerhead with rail gun
hammerhead with ion cannon

Deployment: There was a total of 4 loot counters, 2 near each of our deployment zone, 2 in the center of the table. I set up my forces with 2 infantry squad on the left of my deployment in cover, the infantry platoon command squad is near by, another infantry squad and the iron fist squad near the center of the deployment in cover, with the command squad near them. The russ is deployed furthest left, alone the short board edge, the demolisher is deployed near the center, the 2 chimeras and the 2 hellhounds are deployed right, behind cover. The basilisk and the inquisitor are deployed behind the cover holding the 2 infantry squad and the platoon command squad. One sentinel is near the center with the other near the right short board edge.

He deployed one hammerhead with the ion cannon and one crisis suit team on across from the russ and the infantry squad. One hammerhead with rail gun and another crisis suit team near the center of his deployment zone. The stealth suit deployed a little further up from that. The rest of his force was deployed across from my chimeras and hellhounds.

I won first turn again thanks to my tarot, and I decided to go first.

Turn: 1
IG: Demolisher drove 12" into the middle of the table and dropped smoke. The russ drove up and tried to take a shot at the ion head and missed. The sentinels both moved up and took pot shots with out effect. 4 lascannons fired into one of his devilfish and dropped it, the 11 firewarriors inside were entangled. The basilisk tried to shell the hammerhead in the middle of the table, missed it, but hit the 3 crisis suits, I was able to kill 2, but the last one failed it's moral check and fled off the table. Chimeras and hellhounds moved up closer to one of the objectives.
Tau: Both hammerheads moved forward, the remaining crisis suit team jumped on to the hill shoot at the side of the demolisher and did nothing. But both hammerheads was able to immobilize the demolisher and the russ. The russ is stunned in the process. Both of the sha'os moved forward and shot at the sentinel, killing it. The remaining devilfish moved up and shot some smart missiles into the other sentinel, blowing off it's gun and stunning it. The stealth team moved up but was out of range of everything. In the assault phase the crisis teams jumped behind the hill, and everything else jumped closer.

Turn 2:
IG: Neither of my vets made it onto the table. The demolisher tried to shoot at the stealth teams but rolled too low to see them. The hell hounds both fired at the one of the sha'o causing one wound. All of my lascannons failed to do anything. The basilisk failed to hit one of the hammer heads.
Tau: The ion head shot and the remaining crisis suits shot at the side of demolisher, blowing up it's cannon and stunning it. One of the hammerheads missed the russ, the other blow off it's cannon. The sha'o were able to stun one hellhound, and blow up the inferno cannon on the other. The devil fish flow closer and dropped off the fire warriors. The fire warriors emptied into one of the infantry squads in cover near the center of my deployment zone, my infantry broke and ran off the table. The devilfish shot at the other squad and killed 2 guardsmen. The stealth suits jumps closer and finishes off the last sentinel.

Turn 3:
IG: The plasma gun vets drops behind one of the hammerheads, out of 6 shots, only one hit and 5 were overheats! Needless to say, all of the plasma gunners died as a result, but the one lone glancing hit was enough to bring down the hammerhead! The chimeras move up and shots at the stealth team, killing 2, but they passed their moral check. The hellhound that was not stunned tried to move into a better position to get to the loot counter and the 11 men fire warrior squad that was previously entangled. The lascannons in the left of my deployment zone shoots at the only hammerhead they can see, and blows off the ion cannon off the ion head. The lone squad of infantry in the center of my deployment zone tries to move forward and assault the fire warrior squad, but rolled too low to engage any of them. The command platoon command squad moves around the woods they were previously behind. The basilisk missed everything again.
Tau: The remaining hammerhead blows up the russ. The firewarriors around the plasma vets, double taps and drops all of them. The sha'os blows up one hellhound with a glancing hit and stuns the other. The crisis teams jumps up again and shoot at the side of the demolisher to no effect. The ion head moves closer and shoots the smart missile at the infantry in cover, but I was able to make all cover saves. The firewarrior squad and the devilfish mows down the infantry squad that failed their charge. The stealth team moves closer trying to engage the infantry squad, but after the firewarrior's shooting they fall back.

Turn 4:
IG: Melta vets drops onto the hill the crisis suits were using to shoot at the demolisher. They killed two and the last one fled off the board. The demolisher shot it's plasma cannon at the fire warrior squad in the center but missed. The basilisk hit the last hammer head but failed to glance. The 2 remaining lascannons blows up the smart missiles off the ion head. The chimeras drop 2 more from the stealth team, but they passed their moral check again. The command platoon squad held their position.
Tau: The ion head attempts to tank shock both infantry squads in the cover. The front squad passes their leadership check and the lascannon elects to death of glory the tank. The lascannon was able to destroy the ion head. The stealth team starts to fall back. The remaining hammer head shot a scatter shot into the melta vets, but was only able to kill 3. The vet squad breaks and begins to fall back. The devil fish moves and tries to get LOS to the command squad, failes, but was able to fire smart missiles at them, failing to cause any casulties. The firewarrior squad continues to press their advantages and tries to get into LOS of the command squad. The 2 shas'os were able to blow up the remaining hellhound and one of the chiemeras.

Turn 5:
IG: The melta squad continues to fall back, it gets in range of the stealth teams, kills one, the remaining stealth suit makes it's moral check. The command squad moves around the cover, they set up for their assault. The last chimera shoots at the last stealth suit and missed spotting range. The basilisk turns and direct fires into the last devil fish and blows it out of the sky. The command squad charges and wins combat, on the account of the commander making 2 5+ armor saves! The fire warrior squad breaks, but I was not able to sweep into them, I consolidate into them instead, and they hold for the continuing combat.
Tau: The fire warrior that is not engaged in combat consolidates around one of the counters. The remaining hammerhead set up for the last turn dash to gain another loot counter. The sha'os tries to get to the side of the remaining chimera, was not able to but was able to shake it through the front armor. The combat continues between the fire warriors and the command squad, I win combat again, but this time they hold.

Turn 6:
IG: I drive the chimera as far away from the sha'os as possilble, the basilisk drops a shell on the firewarriors around the loot counter, killed all but 2 of them, thus reducing them from being a scoring unit. The combat continues, and it is drawn.
Tau: The last hammerhead moves to claim one of the loot counters, the combat continues with out effect.

Result: The game ended in a draw. He was able to make the last man standing check for the lone stealth suit through the last 2 turns, and the fire warrior squad around the loot counter was able to pass their morale check as well. The game ended very close, with a difference of 20 some odd points. A couple of rolls here and there could have easily changed the outcome of this game.

Game 3: Hold at all costs

Opponent: Iron Warriors
HQ:
Lord on bike with 4 wounds, mutation, power weapon and daemonic strength
Elites:
3, 2 men obliterators
Troops:
5, 5 men lascannon squads
Heavy Support:
Defiler with mutated hull
6 havacos with tank hunter and 4 autocannons
6 havacos with 4 missile launchers
8 havacos with 4 plasma guns

Deployment:
Despite having a strategy rating of 1, I was able to win the roll off and got to be the attacker. He decided to deploy all his troops and heavy support within 12" of the objective. The objective consisted of an area terrain with a ruined bunker thus granting a 4+ cover save to his troops. The defiler started behind the terrain, while everyone else encircled it.

Turn 1:
IG: I chose to move all my forces on to the table on turn one with the exception of the melta vets and the infantry platoon. I moved the russ, demolisher, both hellhounds and one of chimeras directly from the center of the board. The plasma gun vets and the iron fist squad walked on board to get within 12" so they can rapid fire their guns. The basilisk and the other chimera moved on from my right flank, with the chimera providing cover to the basilisk. Both sentinels were in the right flank as well. The plasma gun vets, lost 2 men due to over heat, and the iron fist infantry squad were able to drop one of the 5 men lascannon squads down to one men. The basilisk took a shot at a obscured defiler and failed to do any damage, but it was able to take 3 marines close by. The rest of my fire went into the marines in cover, reducing another 5 men lascannon squad to one men, and a few casulties among his autocannon havacos. He passed morale check for everyone.
IW: The plasma gun havacos walked up and shot their bolt pistols into the vet squad. The 3 lascannons went into the russ, the missile launchers and the autocannons went into the demolisher, 2 more lascannons went into one of the hellhound. The result was that one hellhound had it's inferno cannon blown off, the russ was stunned, but the demolisher suffered no ill effects. The defiler walked around and took an autocannon shot at the basilisk and blow it's earthshaker off and stunned it. The plasma havacos was able to assault the vet squad, wipe them out and sweep into the infantry squad behind.

Turn 2:
IG: I failed to get any of my reserves onto the table. So I shot all my weapons again into the enemy. The result of all of my shooting is destruction of both of the lone marine lascannons, reducing the autocannon squad to 2, and reducing the missile launcher squad to 3. He again passed all moral checks. I lost the combat and the plasma gun vets were able to move out.
IW: He got 2 of the 3 obliterator squads in. They landed close to my tanks. Two were too far away for the twin linked melta guns, so he had to shot the lascannons, which both missed. The other was able to shot at the russ, stunning it again. The rest of his army shot again into my vehicles, resulting in blowing up of one of my sentinels, and stunning the other hellhound with the inferno cannon. The autocannons and missile launchers again fail to do anything to the demolisher.

Turn 3:
IG: Both my infantry platoon and the melta vet squad makes their roll. The melta vet squad drops close to one of the obliterator squads, while the other squads drop amongst various cover on my left flank. With the exception of my platoon command squad, everyone landed relatively on target. The chimera on my right flank drove full speed to get behind a hill, the sentinel on that hill walked further to get a LOS onto the units on the objective. The demolisher dropped a shot on the closest obliterators, scattering an inch and killed both. The melta vets was able to kill one of the other obliterators. The platoon squads that dropped took pot shots on various targets, not really doing any damage. I think I killed maybe 2 marines in all of his lascannon squads. The lone chimera on the other had was able to finish off the 2 autocannon marines left on the objective. I tried to move my basilisk further up and get a shot on one of the missile marines, but it failed to hit anything.
IW: The last obliterator squad comes in, drops close to the demolisher. It shoots it's twin linked melta at the front, only got one hit, which failed to penetrate. The other obliterator tried to shoot the russ's side with the lascannon, and was only able to scoring a shaken result due to glancing. The plasma marines tried to get closer to the melta vets, they were able to kill about 3 of them as not all of them were able to get in range. His commander also makes it on to the board, he turbo boosts to get to my infantry platoon on my left flank. The defiler shoot his autocannons at the basilisk and blows it up. One of his marine squad moves forward and tried to engage one of my infantry squad on the left flank. The 2 missile launcher shoots at the chimera and blows it up. He is able to assult one of my infantry squads with about 4 marines, he wins combat, but I was able to hold.

Turn 4:
IG: My platoon command squad moves to try and reinforce my one squad that is engaged in combat. The melta vets moves closer and finishes off the last obliterator. The demolisher drops another shot onto the 2 obliterator squad, this time I manage to kill one. It takes 2 lascannons from my infantry platoon to drop the last obliterator. I continue to shoot into his squads with chimeras, hellhounds, and sentinels, resulting in the missile launcher squad fleeing, and the killed the other last 5 men lascannon squad. At the end of my shooting, the only thing he had remaining is the plasma havoc squad, the 4 men marine squad in combat, the defiler, and the lord.
IW: He shots his defiler into one of my infantry squad and misses. The lord was able to engage my platoon command squad, the plasma havoc squad finishes off the vet squad. His lord killed 3 out of 5 from the command squad, but the command squad held. I actually win the combat between the infantry squad and the 4 marines, thanks to close order drill. The marines fall back by I'm not able to sweep into them.

Turn 5:
IG: I drive the chimera closer to the falling back marines in case I'm not able to wipe them out in my shooting. The demolisher drops a shell on the plasma havoc squad and kills about 6, the chimera and the hellhounds finished the last 2. 2 lascannons took shots on the defiler, but was unable to do anything. The squad that was engaged by the marine squad rapid fired their weapons, my plasma gunner dies to over heat, but the lascannon and lasguns were able to drop 2 of the 4, reducing them to below 50%. His lord wipes out my platoon and gets ready to assault another squad.
IW: The remaining marines continues to fall back out of range of his guns. The defiler hides behind the objective as best he can. The lord assault my squad, wins combat, but takes a wound in the process, infantry squad holds again.

Turn 6:
IG: I move all my mobile vehicles as far as possible to get within 12" of the objective. I was able to get both hell hounds, the demolisher and russ to claim the objective. 2 more lascannon is fired into the defiler to no effect. Lord wins combat, and chase the squad down.
IW: Defiler moves onto objective. The lord assaults, killing 3, I hold and the game is over.

Result:
I scored a major victory, I was short of a massacre by around 60 points. Being the attacker in this mission really helped.

Game 4: Cleanse

Opponent: Eldar
HQ:
Aurtach, jetbike, laser lance
Elites:
6 fire dragons with exarch and fire pike, wave serpent
Troops:
10 dire avangers, wave serpent
10 dire avangers, wave serpent
10 storm guardians, wave serpent
6 jet bikes, 2 shuriken cannon
Fast Attack:
2 vyper squad with 2 vypers each
Heavy support:
Falcon, starcannon, with the works

Deploy:
I deployed in the lower right quarter with all my infantry inside a large rock formation. The demolisher and a chimera is deployed to the right of the rock formation out of LOS, a sentinel is deployed near them. The russ is deployed along the long board edge of my quarter, with a chimera to the left of it, and the 2 hellhounds to the right of it. The other sentinel is deployed on the left of all of my vehicles. The basilisk is all the way in the corner behind cover, along with the inquisitor.

The eldar deployed with as much stuff as possible behind cover and out of LOS.

I won the roll to go first again thanks to the Tarot.

Turn 1:
IG: I moved both the sentinels up to get some shots at his vehicles. The demolisher moved up as well. Everything else pretty much stayed in position. I dropped a shell from the basilisk on the falcon, it hit but failed to penetrate its armor. Three lascannons was able to bring down the waveserpent with the storm guardians. The sentinel and the chimera was able to bring down one of the vypers.
Eldar: The vypers were moved behind cover, while one of the waveserpents with the dire avangers and the fire dragons moved down the far short board edge behind some cover. The falcon and the remaining wave serpent moved along the top long board edge to engage my vehicles. The aurtach and the jet bikes moved just behind the vehicles along the top board edge. They shot a various stuff but to no effect. The only casualty I suffered was 2 guardsman from the rock formation.

Turn 2:
IG: Neither of my vet squads made it onto the board. The chimera, sentinel, and the demolisher opened up of the jet bike squad, killing 3. The lascannons in the rock formation brings down the wave serpent with the dire avangers along the top, the resulting crash killed 6 of the 10, and shook the flacon. The other sentinel, russ, hellhounds and the chimera shot at the 2 waveserpents moving down the left board edge, shaking one of them. The basilisk tried to drop a shell on the vypers behind cover and missed. The jetbikes bass their morale check.
Eldar: The storm guardians moves into cover in their deployment zone. Both of the waveserpents on the left flank moves closer and still trying to use terrain to block my los. The falcon moves behind cover to recover form the shaken, the jetbikes and the aurtach continues to move closer, using turbo boost to gain an invulnerable save. A few shots here and there doing nothing to my army.

Turn 3:
IG: Plasma gun vets arrive. I deep strike them close to the arutach and tries to shoot at him, he is able to make all his saves, and I lose all 3 plasma guns to overheat. The chimera and the demolisher finish off the rest of the jet bike squad, leaving the aurtach alone. The sentinel along the top finishes the aurtach. The basilisk tries to shoot the falcon and blows off it's pulse laser. The hellhounds, chimera and the sentinel along the bottom shoots at the fire dragon waveserpent to no effect.
Eldar: The falcon moves forward again and tries to shoot at the sentinel as it is the only thing in range. The vypers reposition them selves to move down the left flank to support the 2 waveserpents still functioning. The dire avanger waveserpent takes a shot at the side armor of the russ and fail to penetrate. The fire dragons disembarks and blows away one of the hellhounds.

Turn 4:
IG: The melta gun vets comes in and I tried to deep strike close to the waveserpents down my left flank. They scatter out of weapons range. The russ turns and blows off the missile launcher on the dire avenger waveserpent along the left flank. The remaining hellhound flames and kills all of the fire dragons, the chimera and the sentinel tries to shoot at the dragon's wave serpent and shake it. The Chimera near the top tries to kill off the remaining 4 dire avengers, it is only able to see 2 and they pass their command check and stick around.
Eldar: My opponent decides at this point to preserve what remains and try to go for a last turn dash to deny me my table quarters. The vypers moves into LOS of the melta gun vet squad and kills 4 out of the 5. The last one breaks and runs. The dire avenger wave serpent moves behind cover again, the fire dragon wave serpent moves to block my russ from getting into the lower left deployment zone. The falcon moves back behind the wrecked wave serpents along the top board edge.

Turn 5:
IG: I have very little to shoot at this time. The chimera tries to shoot down the lone vyper but failed to do anything. The lascannons takes down the fire dragon's waveserpent. The basilisk and the sentinel tries to shoot down the last wave serpent but only ended up blowing away it's catapult.
Eldar: Everything moves out of LOS, vypers and the falcon set up to contest table quarters.

Turn 6:
IG: I tried one last time to bring down the dire avenger wave serpent in the lower left table quarter, but I fail to do anything. At this time, I have the top right table quarter, and the lower left table quarter is contested.
Eldar: The falcon flies into the top right table quarter and contests it.

Result: I score a minor victory. It was very close to a major victory, I think I was around 50 or so away from a major. I failed to gain any points from the falcon, the dire avenger and their wave serpent, the storm guardians, and the vypers.

Game 5: Recon

Opponent: Space Wolves
HQ:
Rune priest
Wolf guard battle leader
Wolf Priest
Elites:
Venerable dread with assault cannon, extra armor
13 blood claws
10 grey hunters with rhino and smoke
9 blood claws
Heavy Support:
Land raider
Land raider crusader
Whirlwind

Deployment:
I split my force, with the demolisher, 2 sentinel, 2 infantry sqaud, and the command platoon squad on my right. Both chimeras and the hellhounds are in the middle. The left consisted of 2 infantry squad, infantry command squad and the russ.

He deployed with the crusader across from my demolisher and the infantry squads to the right. The land raider sat in the middle across from my middle tanks, and the rhino and the dreadnought to my left. The whirlwind sat behind cover in the middle of his deployment.

This is the first game I didn't get to go first, the reroll from the dread gave him the first turn.

Turn 1:
SW: All the transports drove straight toward my line, all popped smoke. The dread took aim on the russ, but failed to get any rends. The whirlwind drop a shot on one of my infantry squad and managed to kill 3 guards men. I pass my pinning and morale check thanks to the banner.
IG: I moved one of my infantry on the right up closer to the crusader, anticipating the assault. However the demolisher drove up through some trees and dropped a shell on the crusader, glanced, and proceeded to blow it away, the occupants are entangled, and 5 of them are killed. The basilisk drops a shell on the whirlwind and blows it away. The russ dropped a shell on the dread and shakes it. All my lascannons fail to do anything to the land raider, but the chimera was able to stun the rhino. The sentinels moves toward his deployment zone.

Turn 2:
SW: The gray hunters disembarks from the rhinos and proceeds to fire into one of the infantry squads in front of them. I break and the squad runs off the table. The land raider drives up and the blood claws in side gets out and set up to assault the other squad. The dreadnought gets closer to the russ. The blood claws and the wolf priest assaults my one infantry squad, they win combat, but unfortunately I hold. They consolidate into me.
IG: Neither of my vets makes it. The demolisher tries to drive around the wreckage of the crusader and get a shot on the blood claws, the shot scatters and only manage to kill 2, not even enough to cause a morale check. The basilisk tries to shell the dread but scatter off. The russ shots at the dread and immobilize it. The hell hounds and the chimeras shoots at the gray hunters and kills 3, they pass their morale check. In combat, the blood claws finish off my squad and moves closer to get to the command squad left on that flank. The sentinels continues to move toward his deployment zone.

Turn 3:
SW: The gray hunters on the hill charges my russ in the side. The land raider drives up further and takes a shot on one of the hellhounds and blows off the inferno cannon. The blood claws with the wolf priest charges the command squad and wipes them out. He forgot to move the squad from the crusader, which cost him greatly.
IG: My melta vets makes it in, drops near the raider, but failed to do anything. The demolisher drives around the wreckage and drops a shot onto the blood claws, killiing 7 of the 10 remaining. They break and fall back. the rest of my hellhounds and chimeras opens up on to the blood claw squad, he makes all their saving throws. The basilisk drops a shell on the gray hunters around the russ and kills 2, leaving 5 remaining.

Turn 4:
SW: The rhino tries to tank shock the melta vets, one of the vets chose death and glory, he was able to penetrate and blow off the storm bolter. The rhino stops and blocks LOS from the dreadnought to the vets. The dreadnought instead tries to shoot at the russ, fails to do anything. The gray hunters are able to move to the rear of the russ, and proceeds to blow it up. The resulting explosion kills one of the gray hunters. The blood claws with the wolf priest assault one of the hellhound and stuns it. The land raider drives around and takes a shot at the side of the demolisher to no effect. The 3 remaining member of the crusader climes into the wreckage for cover.
IG: The demolisher turns and drops a shell on the landraider and blows it away. The basilisk drops a shell on the gray hunters and force a morale check, they fail and falls back. The melta vets tries to get closer to the dreadnought for a shot but is out of range. The sentinels continues to move toward his deployment zone and enters it. One of the chimeras moves closer to the gray hunters to keep them from regrouping. The remaining infantry squads takes pot shots at the 3 remaining members from the crusader, manage to kill the last blood claw, and cause a wound to the wolf guard battle leader.

Turn 5:
SW: The remaining grey hunters continues to fall back. The rhino moves out of the way leaving a clear LOS to my melta vets. The dreadnough shoots at the chimera that was chasing the gray hunters and blows it away, the resulting explosion kills 2 of the 3 melta vets. The wolf priest and the remaining blood claws continues to pound away at the hellhound, immobilizing it.
IG: The plasma vet squad finally arrives and I deep strike them into his deployment zone. The demolisher drives at full speed to get into his deployment zone. The melta vets moves closer to the dread and blows it up, still close enough to the gray hunters to stop them from rallying. The remaining chimera, hellhound, and the basilisk continues to blast away at the wolf priest and the blood claws.

Turn 6:
SW: The rhino tanks shocks the plasma vets, they pass their moral check and moves out of the way. The gray hunters continue to fall back, but kills enough of the melta vets to drop them below 50%. The wolf priest and the blood claw continues to beat away at the hellhound, only stunning it.
IG: The Sentinels crests a hill and shoots at the wolf guard battle leader, killing him. The 2 remaining lascannons finished off the rune priest. The Basilisk and the chimera and hellhound finished off the blood claw squad and caused a wound to the wolf priest. The demolisher finally makes it into their deployment zone.

I ended up with a major victory. I was 23 points shy of a massacre. I have to say I was really lucky to have the demolisher perform so well. It was the MVP of that game.

So overall I scored 70 in battle points, 44 in sportsmanship, and 30 in painting. I don't know what the max possible score is for painting, but I'm happy with my overall results.

Thanks for the reports, super-detailed especially for GT batreps! Your demolisher was a real best, the deathshot on the crusader in the last game was a real gem, and absorbing an enormous amount of fire in other games was pretty impressive too. Any idea on how you placed? Congrats on the wins regardless.

I like that IW list you fought, a bit more unique than the usual IW cheese.

I have no idea what I placed. I was on table 23 for my last game, so hopefully I ended up in the top 30. With the exception that I had a hard time hearing one of my opponents throughout the game, I had a great time and enjoyed each game immensely.

I have to thank dakka regarding iron discipline. It paid off in the very first game.

Great report, thanks for writing it!

Weird missions. Several of them look like they're from the 3rd Ed rulebook!

Blooming heck you did well there!

How many people were there? I would expect with 70 battle points (assuming max of 100) would put you top 20 as those sports and painting seem quite high.

There were 81 tables being played on, so I assume there were at least 162 players.

Best of all, Will is a very good opponent.

I was his oppenent in the first game. Though I lost I gave Will top marks for sportsmanship.

Always a pleasure to play against someone like Will, who knows the rules, plays well and is there to have fun.

Thanks Russ! I had a great game against you as well. Now you need to come out to the east coast for the Baltimore GT.

By the way...

Great Bat Reps!!!

Doesn't sound like it was a factor but the Tau list is illegal with both O's equipped with FNP. Only one model can ever take "special issue" wargear for the TAU

I must have made a mistake in remembering the Tau list. I doubt that anyone at the GT brought illegal lists.

Great Job with Imperial Guards. You're the highest IG player.

It's niceto see Guards are still viable with a good player.

Thanks, I didn't think I'd place that high, I was hoping for top 20.

It turned out that there were more IG players than I thought (around a dozen).  I really thought that all drop troop valkiery army was going to take the top spot for all the guards.

Mine was the one that had a blue and white color scheme with brown bases. They look like Ultramar PDF.

Mi.

Awesome reading. Did you find that alot of armies were cheesy? I just wonderd because i missed Adepticon but heard from 4 people there that it was a cheese fest. Even to an extant that some players were laughing at armies that were "well rounded".
I also heard that this was a trend because so few points are awarded for composition.
Since im going to the GT in Chicago i was just wondering if it seemed the trend?
Nice job with the imp gaurd and nice job posting up the battles it took alot of time im sure.

The only easy day was yesterday.

I haven't had time to get take any pictures of my army yet. I'll try to post some up.

As for the cheese armies, there are plenty of competitive lists. I don't think it was any more than what you'd expect from a venue such as a GT. However, if you look at the results, the top winners all scored high in the soft scores. So just plan n facing tough lists (such as nidzilla, 3 falcon, 2 monolith, daemon bomb, etc), but focus on painting and sportsmanship.

Glad to see you beat the space marine opponent into the dirt. He made a classic "I'm invulnerable" error, and brought an exceedingly boring, repetitive, and cheesed-out list. Congrats!

Great reports. Don't feel bad about not remembering the Tau list completely - you managed to remember everything else from 5 complete games, including a turn-by-turn breakdown of events, and that's pretty amazing.

Good to see Guard doing so well in 4th Ed, especially against armies like Marines. Would've like to have seen you against a Nidzilla list or a 3 Falcon Eldar list though, just to see what'd happen!

I was betting that I was going to have to go up against a Nidzilla in the tournament, but I can't say I was looking forward to it. I'd rather face 3 falcons than that.

I agree completely, IG do ok against Eldar and I know id rather face Eldar than Nidzillas. Nidzillas is the toughest match up for gaurd, IMO.
that and Necrons.

But you really did a great job, you tied for third in Battle Points! that is awesome.

Please post some pics when you have the chance.

Posted By Will on 06/15/2007 8:20 AM I really thought that all drop troop valkiery army was going to take the top spot for all the guards.

Yeah, I was hoping I'd do better, but the randomness of pairings can be a fickle mistress.  Instead of Marines and Nidzillas, my favorite opponants, I ended up going against swarm gaurd, swarm Sisters of Battle, and Swarm Tyranids (twice).

Oh well, there's always next time.  I think I came in second for us guard players, so that's no too bad.

Thanks for the great battle report and I salute my fellow guard player for a job well done.

If your the guy with the Black Tyranids that kicked my butt, then, yes, that's me.

It was a fun game.
