Sorry for posting what may be a beginnerish question but a friend and I have been in debate over what attacks his sergeants and my aspiring champions get. So heres the question. if my aspiring champion has a power fist and get 3 attacks, do they all hit at I 1 and double strength, or just 1 hits at double strength, or what? Sorry but I just want this matter resolved before we move on, we both have about 1k point armies (my chaos vs his space marines). Anyway thanks for what answers I get Dakkites.

All 3 attacks use the power fist.

And all are at I1. Unless, of course, you decide to swing with your bolt pistol or CCW. Then you get three attacks at normal initiative and strength that aren't power weapon attacks. Sal.

A model with special CC gear may always choose to forgo using that gear and attack with his basic profile (thus at I4 and S4 for a Vet Sgt).

This reminds me of an interesting debate some guys got in while playing. One player said he wanted his termies to "turn their power fists off" and swing at normal initiative at str 4. The other player counter pointed saying that no where in the assault rules or in the terminator profile did it say they could do that. Also, since the only close combat weapon the termie had was his fist, he had nothing else to attack with. But then, the other player countered with the question how do any units with just a ranged attack like a bolter or lasgun, etc. attack in HtH?
I dont have my book at work but is there actually anything in the rules that specifically addresses that? For instance, can a Vet Sarge opt to swing at In4 str 4? Becuase i dont remember anything off hand that says that they can, but i know a lot of guys who play it that way.

As long as there is not a model with 2 powerfists anyone can do it. Its the same with 2 special weapons like a chaplain with crozius and powerfist. He can use the fist or he can use the crozius for the I or any combination he chooses up to his # of attacks.

Oh yes they can. You can choose 2 powerfists and 4 crozius or any combo you wish too.

Becuase i dont remember anything off hand that says that they can, but i know a lot of guys who play it that way. P. 46 of the BGB. "Models with special close combat attacks can choose not to use them and attack normally instead. A model might be equipped with more than one type of special close combat attack, eg, a powerfist and a power axe. Only one special attack type can be used, so the player can opt to strike at his normal initiative with the power axe, and use his powerfist as an additional weapon....." Beginning with second sentence of second paragraph. So NO you may not mix and match, but you CAN choose which one to use.
