I'm looking for pictures or paint schemes for Grey Knights.  As easy as slapping Boltgun Metal on to models would be, I dislike metallic paints.  Although I'm considering doing a NMM paint scheme instead, I'm also considering painting the GK's in a different color such as White/Bone, or Red.  Tom Schadle for example, used dark grey on his army a couple years back.  I'm even considering polishing the metal models, sealing them, and then painintg the detail work (icons, purity seals, etc).

The point is, I'm looking for a paintscheme that works for the army and really stands out on the table.  I'd appreciate and advice or insightss on this (especially if they're accompanied with a link).

Thanks!

The trouble I have is mixing up GK with Space Wolves.....I feel the metallic silver should be used, but agree its very difficult not to make it look bland!

I thought about that before i painted them also, but most spacewolves ive seen are darker than how i painted them. hmm let me get some pics of the actual knights this weekend and ill put them up.
Ive also seen all red, blue grey, and a purple/grey that believe it or not looked very good.
The metalic silvers done in a nmm would look good if done right also.
Ive also seen some that are sort of the color of your avatar (Delephont) kind of a cobblestone color. Hmm what else ive seen where there all hearaldic with the split red/white and the rest is the metallic silver that was a good knightly look.

Just like to note that Railgunner's GK are awesome and really worth taking the trip over to Warseer.

Do it, you know you want to!

Thanks for the links and pics. I have a lot of good material to start sifting through (including Railgunner's pics and the extensive CMON site). I'll post a miniature soon. Right now I'm at the stage where I'm filing metal. :\
