Just got this email from Felix
Hi Jon, Thanks a lot for taking the time to email me and letting me know you like my work. Also thanks so much for ordering the Orc Hero. About the Dark Elf Hero, there will be two of them. First one will be a dark elf male hero, with a sword, shield on his back, cloak, full armour and many spikes! Also there will be 2 head options (with and without helmet). This one will be available for pre-order end of June I believe (if everything goes as planned) Later in the future (probably after summer) will come a dark elf female hero. You can see WIPs here: http://www.avatars-of-war.com/web2mail/aow_wip_de.php In effect, Mark Gibbons has produced the concept art I am using to create the Dark Elf heroes. I hope you've found the info interesting! Cheers! Felix

Heres the pic

Felix does some mighty fine work.
I think that male dark elf is particularly good, perhaps my favorite so far of his Avatars of War range.

Awesome model. The only drawback is the reptilian cloak. It makes it too "warhammery" instead of generic enough to be used more widely. Say in a Dark Eldar army... or perhaps a Drow "Chainmail" army. Hopefully he will lay off on the cloak for the female.

I wonder if a careful paint job would make it work in a Wood Elf Army...

Yeah, paint the armor bronze, and maybe weather the scales on the cloak to make it look like a relic from the War of the Beard, and bingo! Granola Elf!
If you were going to go crazy, paint the sword blade in a obsidian or woodgrain finish.

I'll take your spare cloak Hellfury. My Salamanders need all the lizard apparel they can get.

So you're the guy that plays Salamanders, Drake. I had heard that there was one left.

Man, now THAT is sculpting. I don't even dig on dark elf type stuff from any line really, but the quality there is just slick. Excellent work, thanks for sharing.

The Wood Elves aren't exactly wanting of cool looking heroes though. The Dark Elves are much more lacking of decent Heroes/Lords.

I love the lords posing, especially the arrogant gaze and head position. I think its great that it will have optional heads as well. I'm excited to see what Felix will do with the female lord

Hey Felix, will you be making a mounted version? I just so happen to have a cold one that has no rider
