This is an all-comers list. It isn't intended for any tournaments in the foreseeable future, but please treat it as if it were. Absolutely anything in there can be changed, as little of it has been bought, and at any rate it isn't a sin to leave stuff on the shelf.

This army is basically intended to play like Blackmoor's LVGT list, only with a more solid foot-slogging component (because of the Wraithlord) and a more disposable mounted component (because of cheaper Harlies, and barebones Fire Dragons instead of hidden fisted Scorpions).

HQ (365 pts.)
  • Avatar
  • Eldrad Ulthran

Elites (258 pts.)
  • Harlequins: 5 w/ kiss, 1 Shadowseer w/ kiss
  • Fire Dragons: 6

Troops (295 pts.)
  • Guardians: 10 w/ EML
  • Guardians: 10 w/ EML
  • Guardians: 10 w/ Scatter

Heavy Support (580 pts.)
  • Falcon: Scatter, shuricannon, stones, star, vectored, holo
  • Falcon: Scatter, shuricannon, stones, vectored, holo
  • Wraithlord: BL, EML, 2 flamers

Total: 1498 pts.

Good list. Propably so few answers because theres little to criticize.

I'd say you need a tad bit more close combat squads. The Avatar and Harlies can hold their own, yes, but I would say that you don't have enough close combat punch to really do the job for you. If you ever face an assault-oriented army, or even one with a moderate amount of assault units, you don't have enough long-range firepower to thin them before your small amount of assault units can handle them. Might I suggest some Dire Avengers to bulk your anti-infantry fire, and some Howling Banshees or Striking Scorpions to improve your CC punch? That's my opinion.

Catch me if you can.

@Raider: Is there anything, even minor, that you have to add? If not, fair enough, and thanks.

@Burning Star IV: I would like to do all that, but spare points don't grow on trees. I have tried to be get rid of all unnecessary points expenditure (except the star engines, which fall in the "nice to have, and nothing better to fill the last few points with" category), and at this point I'm not sure what I could drop that is less efficient than what you suggest. What do you recommend?

I don't see anything wrong with this list.

The Harlies will be a key component that requires great care to deploy.

Ba-zziiing!

ColonelEllios, thanks. I learned that about Harlies the hard way in my first test game. I must learn to shake off my "immediately throw them against the first expensive target and try and get your points back" mentality.
