I bought an army box to build/paint for my son.  The first thing I noticed is that the warriors barely fit on the bases.  Their feet protrude beyond the base.  Is this normal?

How many different poses can be achieved?  Seems the arms prevent to much leeway.  What are some good positions for the body.  Leaning forward/back/twisted?  I have converted tons of space marines and was hoping to be able to do some variety in the poses with the 'crons.

Any feedback much appreciated.  Thanks!

War is not your recreation. It is the reason for your existence. Prepare for it well.

Give me a hundred Space Marines. Or failing that, give me a thousand other troops.

It is normal that the feet will protrude beyond the base.

You can get a fair amount of trunk rotation, arm pose, and head positioning with the box set.

Another fun thing to do for variety's sake is damaged warriors crawling back to battle and teleporting necrons popping out of solid objects.

Dakka on World of Warcraft:

MANNAHNIN: I know two guys who have had to quit the game cold turkey because the time investment required by it caused problems with their family life.

JFRAZELL: So in other words, nature is self selecting out those not fit to survive and breed? Hail WOW replacing savannah lions since 1997...

Fitting the two arms and torso together at once can be a pain, but does let you get a reasonable variety of poses with guns pointing up, down etc. And when you put the torso onto the legs, twisting to the left or right or forwards or back gives more variety. Fit the head last, making it match the torso pose. I've done 30 or so this way, without any conversion as such, and they do look quite varied.

You can of course go further and start converting, but those skinny necron limbs make that rather more difficult than with marines
