Ok to make things quick:

in middle of game facing another space marine player, had termies on the rear of the rhino

each termie had chainfists, and were assaulting the rear of a rhino, giving each 3 attacks 15 total

rolled em all together, got 14(grrrrrr) misses and 1 hits, chainfist adds 2d6 to strength instead of 1d6

so i roll one set of two, get a 6 and 6, makin it 20 armor damage whatever. So, wouldn't this kinda put in the rule of double strength to armor an instant death, i though so, because its not fair and i got a penetrating hit and didn't blow it up...

Define "not fair".

that would be called bad luck. it happens in dice games.

Thought this was going to be a suggestion for separate armour values versus different types of weapons.

The real question is, why use a 265+ point scoring unit against a 50 point dedicated transport? Was he trying to tank shock you with it or something?

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

Afterwards did mommy kiss your dice and make it better?

But seriously, 15 chainfist attacks should cause a little less then 3 hits, and that should be more then enough to blow the rear of a tank.  You got unlucky, that happens, GW doesn't need to make a new rule for getting unlucky.

You should have hit it on a 4+ so 15 attacks should get you 7-8 hits. That was some of the worst rolling in history if you only hit once out of 15 wit ha 4+ to hit.

In a game we were playing, a friend got a direct hit with a bassie and 9 marines were under the template. he then proceeded to roll 9 ones. It was the most rediculous thing i have ever seen.

Think of it this way. It's a fist. Your termie cut through the hull and penetrated the tank, And now the IG Armored Core has a sporty model with a moon-roof now. It sucks, and I'm sorry that the odds worked against you...but it's not unreasonable or unfair. To quote a remarkable bumper sticker:

Sh!t Happens.

You've gotten the odds right. That's basically a 1 in 10,000,000 chance. Ten million. I don't doubt it can happen, but whoever it happens to must feel like a regular Charlie Brown.
