ok, so who can explain the rules for spores to me? I've read and reread the rules including the faq and thinking that I'd missed something gave it to a friend of mine to read and guess what.....we're both scratching our heads.then we decided just to take a bash and see how they worked. The following came up.

Escorts must remain far away or be destroyed cos they lose their spore if they come within 15cm.right?

1 bomber token(the word squadern is used to refer to singular and plural tokens) pulled all my spores away and we realised that with the bomber able to move 30cm and my spores moving only 15cm that he could indefinately keep those spores from reattaching to my ships.  We thought this was a bit stupid and so we decided that only 1 spore should chase 1 ordinance. Is this right??

How many spores can a ship launch? Is it a case that I can relaunch spores even if I have the full complement of them on my ship?e.g can I have an escort with any more than 1 spore counter acting as a shield?

If ordinance is removed and my spore returns to the nearest ship, can the above scenario occur?

Thats about it for the moment(man those rules are badly written!)

thanks

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Spores rules have changed. They dont go following ordnance anymore, they are just shields now - that have counters and that also act as turrets.

Yes the rules are unclear but the way I read them:

Spores can however intercept ordnance directly as if they were fighters, if the incoming ordnance intersects the spore counter. Otherwise if the vessel is hit first the spores count as turrets hitting on a 4+ (or a 6 if there are blast markers in contact with the vessel).

This makes enemy ordnance very effective against nids, shoot a nid ship a lot to remove all its shields and it has no turrets against your bombers - a death sentence. Or shoot a ship a little to strip away one spore and have the other requiring a 6 to hit incoming torpedoes - a very efficient firepower boost for your torpedo salvoes. Just watch where the blast marker goes.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
