Waaaagh!

I'll be tossing in eldar here each time I get something more done. Comission work.

Here's a Farseer and Harlequins to kick it off.

The camera killed off some red from the purple, for some reason(different camera than what I usually use, this ones "supposed" to be better).

What colours did you use for the rock the farseer is standing on. That turned out very nice! (they all did)

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

I also really like the style and palette. Thanks for the pics.

Ridiculously good painting and a great colour scheme. Looking forward to those Dragons!

Pics are still a bit dark, but I should be getting the hang of this camera soon(ish).

Such a great rich violet.  You don't see many people able to manipulate the color as well as you've done here.

Try using the HTML Tag from photobucket instead of the IMG code.

Nice painting again! I'd actually like to see a little more variation in the different units. A way to work a yellow, orange or red into the Fire Dragons, etc.

I agree about the Excellent painting however I do disagree about the colours (personal preference). I like the uniform colours for units. Deffo ties the whole army together and is different.

Basically anyone who can paint as well as you could paint your minis in almost any colour scheme and get away with it.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

Hey Chrono, why the new handle??

Nice choise of colors - they are perfect contrast to my own Eldar Who are you painting these for?

It's always a pleasure to see work from you, although I'd really like you push your skills to do something spectacular in away that comission work never ticks. Take off the handbreak so to speak. Have you got anything for yourself in the works?

@Migs
Heh, well either I don't recall my password, and I don't use my old e-mails and all that jazz, so I just took a new name, one that usually sits as my sig. You know, that's how stuff goes 'round.

Yeah, the idea was to have a pretty sinister look to them, sorta echoing the idea of those Eldar out of the Eye of Terror, Altansar was it? Offcourse, I saw GW had some rediculous color scheme for them already, so meh.

I wouldn't mind doing something of a project with some proper thought, design etc behind it, going 100hrs plus, but I'd like to have a ticket to GD UK ready for that too, and thus far it hasn't been "possible" for various reasons. But it's still something I have on my to do list, no matter how many kids or how horrible the waaagh shouts are, I think every proper GW gamer should visit it at least once. I still have an idea I consider "good" for the UK GD, which is actually eldar based. And a few other workable ideas. But who knows. I've also missed out on the Ropecon comps the last 2 years. This year was a real pity to miss, could've cleaned the whole thing with some participation. I think it was really sad most of the "pros" were away when JRN was there. It's just so typical.

I'm doing Tau, before the orks come out, hopefully. I have serious battlesuit penis envy cause by your TWARS, and I'm trying to figure out ways to make a tau battlesuit more "appealing" while still being based on, and looking like, a battlesuit. Tricky nut to crack. I learned my lesson from the old tau, pick a good scheme, or perish in pain. :lol: I'm most iikely going for a sorta Finnish army theme with the Tau.

@All
Thanks for the praise, keeps my spirits up. I knew the Harlequins being not standard pattern would cause some different opinions, but hey, that's what makes it all so fun, not agreeing about everything. Hopefully I'll get the squad done during next week.

Cheers

*rereads the thread* Nope, I think you're imagining the "different opinions" on the Harleis. Everyone loves them.

Cool, I think there's a whole crowd of finnish painters considering GD next year. You should really go at it too. You are definitely right about GD being like a pilgirmage for gw hobbyists, but after you've done it there isn't a huge urge for more - atleast for me.

I am sure the next Ropecon will bounce back from last year - so many people were so utterly underwhelmed this year...and can only really blame themselves This year Poland had their own GD... there should Definitely be GD Northern Europe with so many good Danish, Finnish and Swedish painters about.

Looking great. I really like the flame designs on the helmets. Rather clever ^_-.

Have you thought of maybe picking the eyes out in a more contrasting color? As they are right now they sort of blend into the head too much. And more of the grey stone on the bases, especially the exarch base, the whole left side of his looks like it qualifies for it.

Awesome job man.
