This is a slimmed down version of a list I posted earlier; any critique welcome and needed! 8)

Grand Master w/ Master-Crafted NFW, Consecrated Scrolls, Destroy Demon, Psycannon, Sacred Incense   220
3 Grey Knight Terminator Honor Guard, Psycannon        163

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor w/ Emporer's Tarot;  3 Warrior Henchmen w/ Plasma Guns         95
Inquisitorial Land Raider w/ Rough Terrain Modification, Smoke Launchers   258

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor; 3 Warrior Henchmen w/ Melta Guns      80
Inquisitorial Land Raider w/ Rough Terrain Modification, Smoke Launchers   258

4 Grey Knights, 2 with Psycannon, Justicar            200

4 Grey Knights, 2 with Psycannon, Justicar            200

Grey Knight Fallen Hero (Dreadnaught) w/ Twin Lascannon, Extra Armor, Smoke Launchers   138

Grey Knight Fallen Hero (Dreadnaught) w/ Twin Lascannon, Extra Armor, Smoke Launchers   138

TOTAL: 1750

Strategy: Place Grey Knights far back, so as to be just in range with Psycannons. Place both Land Raiders slightly more forward so as to force target priority checks for enemy anti-infantry weapons. The Inquisitors hide inside their mobile bunkers until the time is right to pop out and "surprise" the enemy (ideally whatever gets close first; monstrous creatures and falcons notwithstanding). The Dreadnaughts provide adequate insurance against most fast-moving assault units, and the plethora of twin-linked lascannon hopefully means that enemy vehicles will suffer from the start.

Note: I know my Grand Master is equipment heavy, but with so few bodies to go around the extra hitting power from him helps when big gribblies draw near. I'm torn as to whether or not it's wasted points; the ability to put down any monstrous demon that nears my lines is nice.

Initial thought looking at the list and reading your strat. You are completely focused on the enemy coming to you, yet DH are quite weak in the shooting area. Use the mobility that storm bolters gives you and close with the enemy. Grey nights are no weaklings in CC.

If it makes sense, then it's not RAW.

What do you think might be able to out-shoot this? Don't forget about shrouding...

You have a slot open in heavy support. Move one of the dedicated landraiders over there so it can carry your termies into assault if you're facing guard or Tau. You also have an elite slot open. Move the grandmasters retinue there so you'll have the option to IC him if you want it.

Squeeze points out of the Grandmaster to put 2 mystics and a familiar in each INQ squad. Thats 36 points that gives your special guns in each squad 3 extra wounds before they start dropping. It also has the ridiculously cool bonuses associated with the mystic deepstrike defense.

Destroy demon is really lame when you're already mastercrafted S6 hoover-action NFW. Drop that and consecrated scrolls (which are Inquisitor only anyways).

Hood on the Grandmaster would be a great idea too.

Excellent advice, Moz!

I reworked the list, taking into account some of Moz's suggestions. Also, I feel like all those points in terminators is a waste, since they'll get bushed by any real assaulters (harlequins and monstrous demons). Therefore, I moved away from a Grand Master as an HQ and took a shooty inquisitor instead. I think I like this list better, since it's more faithful to the "armor spam" strategy I was shooting for, and additionally has some nice tricks it can pull off against deep strikers.

Once again the basic strategy will be ranged superiority. Since the Inquisitor Lord is the only unit without the benefit of shrouding or an AV, I'm planning on hiding him behind a Land Raider or other vehicle until the time is right to deploy his psycannon and re-rolled plasma cannon fire.

My questions are simple: Does this list have enough dakka to compete against other shooty lists? Will the lack of any serious counter-assault bite me in the behind? Do you think 2 AV 14 and 3 AV 12 vehicles in 1750 is beefy enough, or just a waste of time?

I'm pretty satisfied with this list. Does the lack of response mean  you all are too?

I'm still worried that 3 dread and 2 raiders might get destroyed easily in 1750, but then again I can see most match-ups going mostly my way...

I think it's more like most people have no clue what to make of a DH list. I certainly don't! 10 GK, three Dreads, two LRs and Inquisitors up the wazoo? Okay, if you say so!

All I can say is, what exactly is the HF Dread going to accomplish? Do you expect him to make it into CC? Why not have another missile Dread?

Well, based on my previous experience with similar army configurations, the vehicles are a bit hit-or-miss, but I can use them to funnel enemy LOS and keep my troopers relatively safe. It'll be tough to shoot through the shrouding to the GK, though not impossible. The Land Raiders actually do a good job of keeping the pressure on--if I sit them in cover they're actually pretty hard and always get to shoot at least something. The hellfire dreadnaughts are there to ping the large targets every round they're not shaken (had a krack missile down a monolith last tourney; lascannon failed at life on its pen roll haha). Seven twin-linked lascannons should put a nice first-turn hurting on any opponent, with emperor's tarot.

Against tri-falcon, he'll have to send his harlies against either tanks (good for me) or troops (not as good but he'll annihilate whatever he hits, allowing me to rapid-fire next round). The plentiful lascannons and the "surprise" junior inquisitors and their special weapon teams should allow me to put a good beating on anything that gets too in my face.

The Inquisitor lord provides a cheap HQ that adds to the strengths of my list, instead of simply eating up points as heavy-counter-assault-yet-easy-gunbait grandmasters tend to. In games where I expect deep-strike, I'll just hide my HQ squad behind a 'Raider, and use the mystic's abilities to give my units free shots at incoming enemies. If I can get LOS with the plasma cannon against incoming termies or tac squads, all the better!

31 total models. A bit low, but that is expected when I'm using 5 vehicles. With the advent of the new Chaos codex, I think the worse matchup for this list might be vanilla marines. I think it has lots of promise against Zilla and Tri-Falcon. Concur?

Oh, the heavy flamer dreadnaught is there as harlequin insurance. I'll bet he'll charge anything but my clampy dread, and then all I have to do is wander over into range with my heavy flamer and toast a harlie squad in one go....

I like the list only one thing i would add. Since your runnin 3 dreads give them blessed. It will cost ten points a piece but you'll get the ageis speical ability with leadership 10 and just in case you play chaos you get plus on to your armor pen rolls against defilers and anything with possed vehicle or mutated hull if its still in the new dex. Blessed has saved my dreads mostly from the nids warp blast when my psychic hood failed.

This is silly! Buttons are not how one escapes dungeons! I would smash the button and rain beatings liberally down on the wizard for playing such a trick!

Just learned you cant use a psychic hood and blessed in the same turn. Has to be one or the other. Guess i should read the rules a little closer...

Quite alot of models.

Since you are running DH, why you don't run mass Land Raiders is beyond me.

It's pretty much the only DH army I worry about, this one...beh, GK dreads aren't venerable so it doesn't take much to blow them up.

Personally I'd like to see your army on the board, I can reliably handle two Land Raiders with every army; and you don't have enough Psycannons to really scale into a heavy shooting list.

To top it all off, you can't bring ANY GK vehicles without a GK hero, so...get Army Builder and validate.

When I play DH, I limit two squads of knights to 1 Psycannon each, then all my deep strike units, Termies and Knights use incinerators, this works out pretty good. Granted, I have not played them much. YET.
For Stelek, Mass Landraiders????, this statement does not make much sense to me, and you really did not qualify it. As expensive in points the Grey Knights are, especially a pure Demon Hunter army. Landraiders especially mass landraider does not make much sense to me.

Well, Grey Knights don't scare me in any shape or form.

5 or 6 Land Raiders, do.

Grey Knights can do that and have a decent army.

Just using the Grey Knights, well, you have no mobility and once I can see you--you aren't shooty, and you are just marines vs shooting so I can kill you pretty easy.

On the plus side, there are alot less of you than regular marines, so it doesn't take long to stomp the army.

Mass land raiders? Yeah, even tooled out to kill them, it's a real pita to do so.

i'm not sold on the psycannons on the pagk's, they're too expensive. you're basically paying 30 points to lose your nfw, storm bolter and true grit. all you get in return is a 55 pt marine with an assault cannon minus rending and one shot.

the psycannons are way better on the termies bc you can always shoot at 36", and still have the str. 6 power weapon. if you really want more psycannons, take min. size termie squads and give them psycannons. use the pagk's for what they are good at, killing infantry with mass stormbolter fire, then counter charge with nwf and true grit.

ps i never play my dh or wh without the callidus assassin, she's too good. she can deal any threat in the game your gk's are too slow to catch.
