In my happy place, I'm in my happy place...

So I have been wondering about the current status of Abbadon's 13th Black Crusade.  As far as i can tell this is still going on in the 40K universe and never really ended, just a few things ground to a halt.  Is this right?

If anyone has some sources to point me to, or the better written novels that deal with this I would appreciate it.

I thought I had a couple other links but I think I lost them when I had to reformat my pc.. blah

As far as the status of the 13th, I think the major momentum of the crusade has petered out. If you can consider a sector full of plague zombies and cultists running amok and Cadia itself ending up under siege petered out that is. I figure they'll break into the Segmentum Solar right around the same time Behemoth strolls up from below and we can kiss out butts goodbye.

All in all I was a little disapointed in how it all turned out, even as a primarily Chaos player. I mean, where do you go next? The full circle story for most Chaos marines would be another assault on Terra, and after something as decisive as the 13th crusade theres not much left to do. Even Armageddon is small potatoes now.

....Unless they actually give the "good" races the initiative for once and send them on a great cleanse to clear a path to Cadia before it destroys itself holding the gate open.. hmm

"All right, boyz, 'ere's da plan: Win. An' if we lose, it's your fault... 'cause you didn't follow da plan."

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

You know what's a cool book? Storm of Iron. It has nothing to do with the discussion at hand, but everyone should read it.

Chaos (Iron Warriors) are the protagonists versus those whiney imperials.

If they were to make any advancement in the 13th Crusade timeline they would/should make an advancement in all time lines. Are the Tau still expanding? Is Biel-Tann losing ground? What happened to all those Orks? Are the Imperials launching a counter-attack? All those Space Marine strategists have to be good for more than just holding ground.

What they should do in the next campaign is have a new significant threat: Orks, Necrons or Tyranids and _meanwhile_ the 13th Crusade still rages on.

What I'm trying to say is that Armagedon was an attack on one world.  But the Eye of Terror campaign introduced a real feel of the races competing for territory.

Tyranids would definitely be the logical choice for the next campaign (IMO). A new Hive Fleet. It would be a lot easier to tie in all of the races then that stupid Medusa campaign. Tau, IG, and SM, and Eldar are all right there. Necrons are popping up everywhere so they could be on a few threatened planets. And Chaos is always popping it's head in wherever it wants. An easy way to get a whole campaign going and it could be a great way to get some good monumental fluff going.

Not to mention orks.... oh orks would love tyranids... both are basically pests... and while the orks love to fight and can never trully be eradicated, nids won't stop fighting until everything on the planet is dead... sounds like a match made in heaven..... turns out the key to stopping the roach infestation is to unleash the green menace

Angron- crushing the theme and fluff of armies one horde at a time.

Well there has been talk about that, especially after leading part of that Hive Fleet to that Ork Empire.  The Orks where happier then a kid in a puddle of mud.  The drawback was that the nids started to become orky.  And thats' just what the galaxy needs.  The two best close combat monkeys becoming one.

yeah but the orky nids turned out to be the spore launching ones.... and everyone knows how great they turned out against AP3...... I always liked the nid models because you can tell what they've been eating. Spore Launchers took the genetics of orks, the warriors took the space marine DNA, and the zonthropes ate eldar
