Okay...

We have a population of about 8 million accessible by public transport.

We have a variety of clubs that can easily be found on The Google. Some of them are local, some are positioned for commuters either centrally or near major rail stations. Some are in pub function rooms, and some are in parish or other meeting halls. Some clubs focus on particular periods or genres (RPG, 40K, boardgames) while others are fairly open and will play nearly anything.

We have plenty of Games Workshops (even though the Hammersmith store is being closed.) We also have a reasonable number of independent hobby shops for games, models and comics/action figures.

The big wargaming shows are Salute in April and the SELWG show in October (cancelled this year due to asbestos being found at the venue.)

London being at the centre of the UK transport network is well connected to other cities all having their own local wargaming activities. This means a London resident can easily visit a show or event (re-enactment, etc.) nearly every month, and more in the summer.

London is also home to some great museums that are wargame related: the National Army Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Tower of London, HMS Belfast and the RAF Museum at Hendon. More great military museums can be reached easily by car or train; the Duxford Aerodrome Museum of Flight, the Bovington Tank Museum, various naval museums and ships at Portsmouth, and loads of castles and other attractions.

The main drawback of London is the high prices.

Hey mate. I wish that I lived in London, for the gaming, and the British girls!!!!
Here in Brisbane, Aus, we do not have nearly that many, but I do think we have a high proportion of Gamers to make up for that.

(If you lived in Woodridge or Inala you would want escapism as well!!! LOL)

Our Club has about 20-odd members(and yes-they are odd) but there are many good, larger sized ones in and around Brissie. Due to the size/travel, we do not really have a lot of inter-club type battles, which is a shame, as the larger events are always GW hosted(No FW stuff etc.). Maybe we should get off our collective @sses and try to organise something.

If you have a club that you are a member of over there, would anyone like to make a Brother club over here in AUS?

We are going to hold an International inter-club tourney next year, and billet any O/S members at our Club members places.

Whaddya reckon...?

I applaud your enthusiasm and your great idea. Brother clubs is a bit like twin cities, could work really nicely for visits.

I'm not a member anywhere now as I moved house recently and I will be moving again soon, so no real prospect of joining anywhere soon, I'm afraid. Once I settle down I'll have to check the local scene as I won't be in London.

British girls, I'm sure they're great though I can't really remember (my wife is Japanese). These days it's probably easier to find Polish girls in London, they are great too as far as I can tell from a distance. Anyway we've got all kinds of girls. Still, no girls anywhere seem to understand wargaming.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Beef, your'e on. My GF may not be too keen for the swap, but kudos to you for the suggestion. However, Jen is very supportive of my Wargaming, and as I have always said, a GF is the "Ultimate" gamers Accessory!!!

Maybe we should have an 'off-topic' posting thread where we can compare girls from the most popular Wargaming communities?

MUST BE TASTEFUL!!(No nudity etc.!!).

i second that. we have no attractive girls that actually game. some of the gamers GF's are quite tasty. there was a girl once who we all mistook for a boy and the worst was a guy we all mistook for a girl.
