Somewhat concerned that in my attempt to make a flexible list I made a weak one. Any comments would be welcome though.

Depending on how it gets interpreted and whether it gets FAQ'd, you may not be able to put a power klaw in your shoota boy squads. Lootas are solid, not sold personally on the deffkoptas unless they have power claws.
Are the mobs going in the battlewagons.

I really see no reason for big shootas on shootaboys. If you can take another AP3 antitank gun, why not? It's not like your shootaboys in with shootas and CC can't provide plenty of anittroop.

Especially in an army with no S9/S10 guns to speak of.

Deffkoptas are there as cheap scoring units. Figure they're ever so slightly better than Warbuggies. Maybe.

Big Shootas are just there as I had an extra (small amount) of points. Not really convinced that a single Rokkit is better than two Big Shootas.

Wrong question. The question is, is a single rokkit better than a single big shoota, or more precisely, is an army with n rokkits better than an army of n big shootas? Think in terms of capability and availability, not difference in cost, which is negligible compared to what you're already paying for the mob.

On another note, if you can find the points, it would be well worth it to give the Big Mek a burna. He will almost certainly end up in combat.

Hmm, I'll try it with 18 boyz and 1 rokkit vs. 19 boyz and 1 big shoota.

Not really sold on the burna on the Big Mek. He's an IC striking at I3 with T4 and a 6+ save. Urgh. I'd rather take a powerclaw (if I wanted to spend more points on him) so that he could at least threaten (light) vehicles.

Well, he'll be I4 on the charge. You'll get your points back against rank-and-file MEqs, which may not be the case with the PK, and you retain the option of the flamer if it would be more useful.

I dunno, I see him offing a little over 1 MEq on the charge at simul and then being dead before getting to attack again. I think I'd prefer firing the Skorcha and then hiding him from hth if possible. Making him decent in hth would probably cost the same as a Deffkopta (avoiding giving values)... and decent in hth isn't all that good for someone who'll probably still just get plowed by a powerfist the first time he's engaged.

I do rather keenly feel the lack of a brute force hth unit or model tho. Hmm.
