With the old Rhino, warwalker and wraithlord all retired, what's the oldest these days?
Is it the Space Wolf special characters circa 1993, 1994?
The Phoenix Lords circa 1994?
Or is there something on the fantasy side that's older?

I'd have to guess.... Jervis Johnson. He was in a few photos back in the older white dwarfs.
on second thoughts maybe I should just get back to coding and not talk any more

Genestealer is circa 2005
Ork Buggy is Late 1990s (Gorkamorka)
I think it's the skaven poison wind globadiers.

one of the genestealer sculpts is from space hulk still, and yes the ork buggies are older than dirt, and they show too!

Ezekiel is old. They redid him this year but it's still the same model.
Maybe Eldrad.

Either way, its pretty amazing how vastly superior some of the posing has become over the years, especially when comparing some of those 90's era warlocks and farseers to the newer models. No more of that static pose of both hands in the air at about shoulder height with one weapon in each.

Lesee...
I think the plastic genestealers in the 4th ed set are new, anyway the plastic ones GW had for a long time were from the 1995 Space Hulk launch, still younger than Ragnar Blondhair and Norselokin Nahm Stormcaller. They came out at the tail end of Rogue Trader, so 1993 or 1994.
Ezekiel was from 1995 or 6.
Old warlocks are older than the Wolfs but they were replaced around the Eye of Terror campaign, 2002 or 3.
Dunno about the Skaven plague globe guys. When are they from? Are any of Jes' original skaven still in print?

Space Wolves
- Special Characters (Ragnar, Ulrik)
- Metal Wolf Guard
Eldar
- Eldrad, Phoenix Lords
- Falcon, Vyper, Jetbike
- Warlock holding sword down, and warlock holding spear and pistol
Chaos
- Abbaddon, Kharn, Fabius
Fantasy
- The new white dwarf shows the Eltharion the Grim riding Stormwing for masterclass, now that is an old model!
I would say out of them all, the two warlocks and Eltharion are pre 94.

Oddly, they returned Karl Franz riding Deathclaw to production while dropping the newer and superior Elector Count on Griffon. He's got to be quite old now (as with most of the Empire special characters returned from 5th).

This is from the 1986 Citadel Journal, and the same models are being used today, nearly 22 years later.

The old Night Goblins included Snotlings on the sprue (like how some Tyranid units include Rippers).
Since the Night Goblins have been replaced though, the newer 'free' replacement Snotlings have been pushed out in favour of the 22 y.o. models.

In fantasy, the Empire knight's horse is about 16+ years old...and since The Empire just had their new Army Book released, its gonna be a while before new ones are considered again.

Yeah, or there abouts. I bought one when I first started in the hobby, probably early '95 or so.

Eldar Jetbikes go to about '94, along with the Leman Russ.
SW characters are about 2 years older.
Obviously, the Snotlings are older still.
Wraithguard go back to '95 or '96, as does the current SM bike, and Warp Spiders, the chimera, Abbadon, and the Vyper.
I think the Ratlings are from ~'92-94? Perhaps earlier.
IIRC, most of the Empire characters (including the individual Elector Counts) go back to 4th edition, not 5th. Could be wrong, though.
I think just about everything else from the 90s (Aspect Warriors, most Marine stuff, Ogryns, Com. Yarrick, etc.) have all been updated at least once.
