Y'know the zealots or fantaics or Fraternis Militia or whatever they're called now.
I just got my plastc flagellents and want to make some.
I think the cover had an angry bald man on it, he had some sort of oversized weapons and some skulls on his armor. Anyone remember?

Found it, May 2004, and surprisingly it has no baldness or oversized weapons. There though are skulls.
Wow, they rock. I assumed they'd be BS2 like the old chaos cultists (RIP) but they're BS3, they can get plasma guns(!) evicerators and treat negative modifiers as positives!
So I can take 20, with 4 plasma guns and 2 evicerators and a priest.
Why aren't more people taking them as allies?

IIRC, they aren't legal in any GW/ RT tournies, but you can still use them in conjunction w/ the WH codex.
They are truly awesome aren't they? Such a great use, not only for the Flaggelants but also the Necromunda Redemptionist minis.

They are on the 2007 list of approved armies under the "Forces of the Inquisition" heading (it gives the Issues # as 292 by the way): http://gt.us.games-workshop.com/Rules/40k_lists.htm
Given that they were OK in the GT and are still Chapter Approved, I would imagine that most Tournament Organizers for RTT's/etc. would be willing to allow their use.

They're legal silly. They were made to extend the Witchhunters list.
The reason most people don't run them is for their cost, Sisters are still too good.
If you could mount them in a transport, they'd be better but as it is they are foot sloggers.

Ah but you forget they can ally with the IG!
20 loonies, plus priest, 5 evicerators, 2 plasma guns!
And you can get 2 squads of them!

I think the reason more people don't take them is they are one of the few 4th edition CA articles that hasn't been posted on any GW site.
If that isn't a pretty good signal that the idea isn't going to be supported in the future, I don't know what is.

No, I'm not trying to tell you its not legal. It is Chapter Approved. But as far as I know it is not currently hosted on any GW site (I'd love to be wrong though).
What I'm saying is that by not hosting things on their website you certainly create an atmosphere where a tournament organizer may choose not to include the said article because it is not easily obtained by every player.
For example, in any tournament I run, I do not include any CA articles that aren't currently available on GW's sites simply because I feel it is unfair for some players to have access to rules that other players cannot easily get access to. I define "easy" access as being able to purchase the rules in a GW store or download them from GW online.
The longer we get from the time that WD was published and GW continues not to host the rules online the less people will even remember it even exists (or know that it even existed in the first place in the case of new players).
