How do you prefer that tournaments be organized in a convention setting?

If the tournament is an RTT style, 3 round event then definitely single day. Any more than 3 rounds should be 2 days.

Wow, 6 whole votes. I guess I should have put in a selection for "Don't Care".
Seriously though...
I am helping organize a small convention in Atlanta called WarFair. The voting on this poll will help us decide the priorities for table space during our future conventions.

You may want to edit the first question if your worried about responses - I read the first option being for 1 tournament game last the whole day.
Run all of the games for a tournament on one day - it will cut down on the number of players you lose over night.

This poll strikes me as written by someone that's never been to a GT.

It is hard to say without some context.
How many RTTs are in the immediate area?
How often are these Cons?
As mentioned, you do not want to have more than 3 games in a day. Also, to have a multi-day event you need to start to have a large amount of players, at least 30+ to make it an "event".
But for the most part, if you run a good Games Workshop event, most GW players will just play that,

I agree with the others that it depends on the scale of the tournament.
A 3 game tournament is best handled in one day. The players don't need to lug their stuff around as many times, and you don't have to worry about players dropping out overnight. You can conceivably also do a 4 game tournament in one day, but only if you start early AND have very experienced and extremely well-organized people running it. Adepticon and the UK GW crew are the only folks I know who do this. And GWUK only does it with 1500pts for 40k.
If you're running a 5 or 6 game tournament, it will have to be split over two days. I agree that you want to make sure you have the attendance to justify it; I would say more like 50+ players for a two day event.

In response to qualifiers noted by respondents:
Consideration for RTT or GT not really a factor. Tournament may not even be GW related.
Number of players 20 - 40.
Number of tourney rounds most likely 3 - 4.
There are lots of other games running at the same convention. i.e. Civil War, WWII, Pirate Sea Battles, NASCAR racing, Modern, etc...
Convention is in a hotel with available rooms.
Thanks for your ideas so far...

Agreed(and its not a poll option), and it should also be done ar'boys style, no soft scores just straight win/loss and be doen with it. a judge (not your opponant) should come by and give you a seperate score for how pretty your army is painted(or if it is fluffy), with an appropriate reward catagory.
