He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

It's more a prequel to LOTR than a sequel to The Hobbit.

Gandalf always looked the same. He was already several thousand years old by the time of The Hobbit. Sir Ian McKellen would be a good choice to link the film to LoTR.

I read on one of the movie news sites a couple weeks back that Ian McKellen was looking forward to being gandalf again, and peter jackson was begging for the studio to use him again.. so hopefully it'll happen.
What about a young elrond? or would Agent Smith still be the right age too? It would be cool if they could get the same bilbo and make him up to look younger, they used the same guy for the flashback in the beginning.. but he might be a bit too old. Maybe they can get Ashton Kuscher to play him and lindsay lohan could be his girlfriend?

So the full title could be The Hobbit: Dude, Where's My Ring?
I'd photoshop this, but I'm at work.

@ Power Cosmic- Dude, hilarious!!! lol
Demi Moore has agreed to play Gandalf, so Aston doesn't stray.
Bonus is, she needs NO make-up.....

Elrond was also about 3,000 years old at the time of The Hobbit. Legolas was also present (though not named) in The Hobbit as he is a son of King Thranduil of the Mirkwood Elves. He probably fought in the Battle of the Five Armies.
Don't forget there is only about 80 years gap between The Hobbit and LoTR.
I'll shut up now before I get a rep as a Tolkien nerd.

Whenever I see ANYTHING related to "The Hobbit", I cant get the evil visions of that godawful Lenord Nemoy video of that Puke song spewing fourth from his hole.
This movie might have one thing over the other three, it will be one movie. One movie to blow them all...
