Hey all,Been wondering if anyone could help me with the point costs for a Baneblade piloted by Chaos Space Marines(And hence BS4 and access to the Chaos upgrades(At least the ones the Plaguereaper can get)

The Fortress of Arrogance is BS4 and even accounting for Yarrick its like 700points (though if ya drop the Pintle-Heavy stubber and Hunter killer missle,Its like 688 or something) I'm guessing the special rules must go towards the total as well.

So shall we say 525 - 550pts for a Chaos Baneblade. BS 4 and access to pintle-mounted TL Bolter or Combi-Bolter,or a Havoc Launcher. (Access to Dirge Caster,If someone actually can find a use for it)

What do ya think?

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

What about including Demonic Possession? No stunned or shaken and it makes it BS3 anyway.

Call it a 75 point upgrade.

None. The BS4 Baneblade should be 100 points less than it currently is. The BS4 version would be worth about 425-430 at most, as the Mega BC and the Demolisher cannon don't use the BS.

how about chaos finds somthing else for its already overpowered self rather than stealing the rare good units from one of the more underpowered armies.

CSM follow pre-Heresy Doctrine, so I agree CSM would have Baneblades attached to their forces.

BS4 affects the 2 Lascannons (+15 pts each) and the 3 twin-Heavy Bolters (+10 pts each). So I'd guestimate a minimum of +60 pts for CSM crew.

But really, CSM shouldn't be piloting a Baneblade. Just like Traitor Titan Legions, any Traitor Superheavies would be piloted by Renegades.

Thats just it though,Can your average human survive 10k years in the warp? I mean if they were to die off or mutate I can't imagine WM Abaddon letting a few Baneblades sit idle for lack of crew

I'm sure he wouldn't be adverse to chopping some legs off and chaining a fresh pilot to the seat and promising eternal torment for anything but exemplary service.


But yeah your replys got me thinking along the lines of Plague reapers for the other Gods as opposed to a CSM Baneblade.

My current favorite idea is a Tzeentch Sorcerous Platform.

Basically say baneblade body,With no main turret(maybe drop the Demolisher cannon aswell. Undecided about the sponsons.)
In place of the main turret is a platform with one main Sorcerer surronded by 8 thrall wizards. Any Gun Crew Stunned or Weapon Destroyed result in the lose of a thrall wizard instead of their usual effects. Primary weapon though.

The Weapon fires like so:

Range: ??(Suggestions?) Str: X Ap:1 Assault 1*

* - Strength of the gun equals the number of Thrall Wizards + the Focal Sorcerer. (Maybe if all 9 are present it is Str: D?)
The weapon must pass a psychic test to fire. A Perils of the Warp hit can be taken on any of the wizards participating.
(Still the * explanation)
After every successful wound/penetrate make a psychic test again. If successful roll a scatter die and the next model in that direction is hit with a Str X-1 hit. If no model can be hit then the blast simply disapates.

For Psychic tests take LD as 10.

Points - Don't have my codex on my atm but 600pts say as a rough estimate?

Ok possibly far too long winded I'll admit. But would be interesting. No idea what to do if ya run out of Thrall Wizards tbh.

Any suggestions would be very welcome(Including,dump this stupid god forsaken idea )

Ther's a Fellblade Apocalypse sheet available online at belloflostsouls.com which i have used to justify fielding a Black Legion baneblade.It includes all the points costs etc. you should need.

I simply added the extras the CSM get to the datasheet to make my own.

Glasgow Ned: 2pts
Drunk (see slow and purposeful USR)
WS 5 , BS2 , S2 , T4(5) , W3 , I(spec.) , A (D6) , Ld5 , Sv 6+.

If big brother/sister in close proximity(6'')T +1.
Roll D6 for no. of attacks.
Always strikes first due to being a ''shady wee bas''.
+5pts. for buckfast bottle (Sv becomes invulnerable).
Immune to psychic attacks due to being ''pure mad mental , by the way''.

you could give the whole thing daemonic possession. would work well for Tzeentch based armies.

or just turn the whole thing into a huge dreadnought...saying that all the internal crew spaces are now filled with the whirring, gurgling, frothing, sparking life support systems needed to keep a few CSM's alive who displeased Abbadon.
