I need some hoses for a conversion I am working on. I need the hoses to be about as thick as a pencil, but with a ribbed texture. Any ideas on where to get some?

My auto response is guitar/bass strings but when that thick are kinda unwieldy.

For something that thick, I'd bundle the guitar strings. Instead of having 1 string, take a half-dozen of different sizes and thrown in a little wire for texture variation.

Have you tried going to an electrician's supply store? They have all sorts of interesting wiring, including insulating material to be wrapped around other wiring.
