I really don't understand what you're gaining from the two Battlewagons vs. the opponents you're trying to beat (Space Wolves and Tyranids).

Ordnance doesn't do squat against Tyranid MCs and while it can certainly blow the crap out of Space Wolves infantry, my understanding was that he was running a lot of vehicles and you were having trouble with that, no?

If so, again Ordnance tanks really aren't going to help you out much in that department.

What role do you see the Battlewagons filling in your army?

If you wanted to use the Battlewagons in that role, you wouldn't want to take a Killacannon as you'd pretty much always be moving the Battlewagons 12" meaning you wouldn't be able to fire it. Instead, why not take 'Death Rollas on your Battlewagons? And if you're going to go that route you might as well ditch the 'ard top and actually put some units inside.


The 1,000 point list looks pretty solid for what it is. I'm not sure you beat your friends with it, but it is a good all around CC based army.

For 1k, it is indeed a good CC army. Has a bit of a punch but AV14 tanks as always for Orks, will be trouble.

Remember, you cannot make perfect lists. You can only make gimmick/unbalanced/balanced lists.

This is oriented towards close combat, but it's a strength of your army. Personally I rely on shooting (which isn't a strength of Orks usually) and fall back on my inherent CC goodness to see the day through.

Give it a few tries, you'll be fine.

I find Battlewagons really usefull when stripped down. I field one or two of these in my 1500 point lists.

"DakkaBus"
BattleWagon, 4xBigShoota and thats it.
(I don't have my Codex next to me so I don't know how many points that is, I think its 110)

When the B.Wagon is fielded this way its major roll is to provide some blocked LOS for my trucks. After that task is done (granted it is still alive/mobile) I just roll the DakkaBus up towards some infantry or an objective and start taking pot shots. Four BigShoota with a 36in range will be more then enough to harass.

And if it goes boom... well it wasn't that major of a piece to begin with.

I fielded a DakkaBus in my last list as a dedicated transport for 3 naked nobs and it did wonders at blocking streets/LOS. But I would like to point out I usualy take a full 6 trukk boys and no wartrakks.
