A few years back I got swept up by the green tide and I bought and built a few orks that I thought looked cool. Now I would like to make that list a little more viable. I bought more boyz than I built so it'd be great if anyone could give me advice on what to configure the unbuilt boyz as. Here's my list:

Warboss
5 Mega-Armoured Nobz in Trukk

15 Slugga Boyz, 1 Nob (total 21)

10 Shoota Boyz, 2 Heavy Shootas (total 12 boyz)

15 unbuilt boyz, 2 rokkit torsos

Wartrakk with zap-cannon

None of the boyz are primed yet.

You need about 2x the amount of boyz.

I'd run as many basic boyz as you can realistically afford, 2x20 + 4 trukks or 4x20 + 2 trukks is an excellent base.

Run a mix of shootas and sluggas if you like, I prefer shootas because I enjoy rolling nine BILLION dice. It seems silly, but there it is.

Add in your style of play (shooting or assault) and ensure you can handle mech lists in one way or another, and you'll have a fine ork army in no time.

Thanks. Why would I want 4 trukks for 2 mobs? I thought you can only have trukk mobs of up to 10 boyz. And why less trukks for more boyz?
I haven't yet had a chance to buy the new codex. But I'll probably get it on tuesday.

Erm that's 4 trukk mobs, 2 foot mobs.

I'll probably do 2x20boyz and 4trukk mobz for now. I still have 2 other armies to finish. All I need are two battleforces and I'll be there.

Buy the new codex. Only 1/10 Boyz can have a Big Shoota or Rokkit Launcha. Wartrakks cannot have Zzap Guns (or Kustom Mega-Blastas). I suggest configuring the Boyz has Shoota Boyz and Slugga Boyz half and half, to get the best of both worlds.
